I don't think Braddock schools are as affected by boundary proposals as schools in many other magisterial districts. But I've no doubt that any Republican who runs for Walkinshaw's seat will point to Moon or any other Democrat who gets nominated as complicit in what's turned out to be a disastrous boundary study. The strong suit of Democrats in Fairfax County was always that they stood for good government, and this boundary study is a case study in poor execution and lax oversight. If Braddock can find someone like John Cook to run again, Moon may be toast.
You are so wrong.
The strong suit of Fairfax democrats was never good governance. They have always sucked at their jobs. Their electability over the past decade is simply that they are not bad orange man or a fan of bad orange man.
Their success has zero to do with good governance.
There were a few Ds over the last decade who were holdovers from the past who were decent. McLaughlin is an excellent example.
But they are all gone.
Fairfax used to be known for moderates of both parties who cared about good governance. Sharon Bulova (D) and Tom Davis (R) were examples.
And, yes, those days are gone. Now we get posturing, incompetent clowns like Karl Frisch and Sandy Anderson. Moon is a tired old guy who tolerates them because he wants to be invited to their picnics.
