what are these magical bras that mean you don't look like you need a breast lift?

The band is the most important part. That’s where the most support comes from.

This is partially correct. Yes, you need a properly fitted band, and it does provide a good bit of the support. That said, cup construction is what's actually going to provide the lift you're looking for. A properly-fitted band with a poorly-fitted cup will provide support and some wrangling, but no real lift to speak of.

+1. I'm a 32 H and without a super strong band and cups the weight would be impossible to lift. My poor bra has to keep 10 pounds up all day long.

Which bras do you like?

You have to wear both?

Oh no! Sorry that wasn’t clear - it’s either a Wacoal minimizer bra OR the Wacoal Brandi sportsbra

I also never wear a padded bra (34 E) - I just need the cups to be the right shape and thick enough to hold up and in

I am thinking it's not going to get better and was seriously considering exploring a breastlift. Now I understand there are magical bras that can make your boobs like you had a breastlift except when you are naked? I am more disturbed about how I look in clothes, not naked, so if that is true & I just need a new bra, tell me where I can find it!

You really should get a breast lift. Life is too short and I promise you will not regret it. You can go braless, or wear any bra, and look fabulous clothed or not.

If youre large chested, 8 years out done with kids and ita financially reasonable for you to do, get the surgery if you want, you sound like an ideal candidate.

Ma'am, with respect, I sew for a living, and you can't get a surgeon to do what I can do. Natural looking lift is 100% possible, but you're not likely to be able to just pluck it off a rack at Target, even if you know the correct size (and most women don't).

NP Can I offer you $500 for just ONE fitted bra that can lift these puppies up? Please?

It is all dependent on your body type, style etc. A D cup would feel small to me, I have had huge boobs my entire life.

Is it painful for you? Why not get a reduction?

When the OP is about plastic surgery, folks get really upset when the anti-plastic surgery crowd chimes in. Perhaps you could get a little self awareness and stop pushing surgery when it’s not the question. Maybe answer the OP which is about bras. OP clearly knows surgery exists.

Any of these good for petite women? I need a smaller space between boobs and shorter straps.

I am a 32DDD. The band size is smaller, yes, but for some reason, they think I have the same amount of space between boobs as someone who is a 40 band size. Many bras are spacing my boobs out too wide, wider than is natural. Also, I have to shorten many straps smaller than they will go. Or if I can shorten the strap enough, the metal strap slider sits right on the top of my shoulder and digs in all day. Bras have been a PITA for me my whole life. Other short women have small breasts and basically wear nothing or sports bra like things, but I clearly need an actual bra. I too would like them lifted.

Oh and when it spaces the cups out so wide, the metal cups dig into my arm pits. They shouldn't be near my arm pits!

You should go get fitted. If the underwire is digging into your armpits you very likely have the wrong size. It's also possible to wear different sizes in different brands.
I have close-set breasts with very little space between. Chantelle C Jolie works well for me.

+1. You don't need a magic bra. Just go get fitted. I am not anti-surgery, but, I don't care how I look naked (or in a swimsuit--I am mostly covered up at the pool trying to save my skin from sun exposure).

I've contemplated opening a bespoke bras boutique... This thread is helping that idea along!

I did an impulse buy from social media ad and got one of the TrueKind/Shapermint/Honeylove brands (they are all basically the same) for $45 and have absolutely loved the results. Am 57, a 34Cish size and that bra makes my boobs look as perky as a 22 year old's under my clothes. They are wireless too so super comfortable. I now don't wear anything else.
