Have On shoes become for lack of a better word really dorky?

What’s the current trendy athleisure shoe?

I'm not trendy but definitely UC my whole life. I've never worn anything but Brooks. Anyone into fitness - which is almost the whole UC - is loyal to their brands until the brand does something stupid to diminish quality.

Trendy athletic shoes are for fat people - a true comment that DCUM will flame me for...

The pretty moms in the school pickup line wearing trendy high-end athleisure are not overweight.

I love Hokas. They are truly the only sneaker I can wear without pain. That said, I know I'm deluding myself by thinking I look anything like the cute Free People/Anthro girlies when I wear them (and where they are still sold in every color and style possible). On Clouds had their day but I still see them styled fashionably, just rarely by anyone middle aged or older.

But yeah I think they look silly

They're On Cloud's

Well their logo sucks

There was literally a Super Bowl commercial with Roger Federer and Elmo about this, what planet do you people live on???

I blame ONs for putting me in the position to get posterior tibial tendonitis, which was extremely painful for me for an entire year. I only wore them to do two mile walks around my neighborhood, but they lack support and are really hard on the ankles somehow. And I do think they have become dorky....I only ever see them on pretty elderly and/or unfashionable people nowadays.

I only wear New Balance 880s now.

As an aside, can anyone tell me what color combos for athletic shoes are hot right now? All white, pastels, brights, neons, etc? I have no idea and I'm due for a new pair

I mainly use Brooks for serious walking but that said, my On-Cloud slip on waterproof shoes probably get the most wear for travel and errands.

yall they are comfortable and light. DOn't we want that in an athletic shoe?

Who cares. Wear what you like and what is comfortable. I just discovered hoka and they’ve been a godsend for my plantar fasciitis. I didn’t care what brand they were. I tried on all of the shoes and chose the one that was best for me.

My son who is into fashion and has tons of sneakers has been wearing Asics metallics recently. I'm feeling the metallic look (which is more urban) may seep into the mainstream in a few months.

So 1990's

They're literally skinny fat people. High body fat composition is irrelevant of size.

Anonymous wrote:They’ve been around at least 5 years, and unlike Hokas I have not met anyone who chooses them for function. They are very popular with the middle aged UMC parents at our school, so I group them with the lululemon fanny pack/Amazon winter coat/Vega sneakers, ie fading trends. Personally I tried them 3-4 years ago but did not find them comfortable for running, and I don’t really do athleisure, so I donated

So true love this comment you are my people
