There are other polls that are not about Trump directly but reflect on him nevertheless, especially given all the actions he and Musk have taken since the inauguration.

*Consumer confidence:
The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index found Americans' confidence in the economy is slipping on Friday, as the preliminary February index dropped to 67.8, the lowest reading since July when it was 66.4 under then-President Joe Biden. It was 71.1 in January.

*Feelings about Musk (will spill over to Trump)
The share of Republicans who say they want tech billionaire Elon Musk to have significant influence in the Trump administration has fallen substantially in the months since President Trump was elected. In The Economist/YouGov poll taken in the days after the November 2024 election, 47 percent of surveyed Republicans said they wanted Musk to have “a lot” of influence in the Trump administration, while 29 percent wanted “a little” and 12 percent wanted him to have “none at all.”

Today, however, the share of Republicans who say they want Musk to have “a lot” of influence has fallen substantially to 26 percent. Meanwhile, 43 percent of Republican respondents say they want Musk to have “a little” influence, and 17 percent say they want him to have “none at all,” according to the latest poll from The Economist/YouGov released Wednesday.

Same poll: Half of Americans think Elon Musk should have little to no control of the gov. and 28% think DOGE should only have only some power. 56-62% disapprove of trump’s plan to put tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and Europe. 13% of Americans like Trump’s Gaza idea. 66% of Americans think Trump isn’t doing enough to lower prices and only 53% of republicans surveyed actually think he’ll lower prices in the end. Sounds kind of bleak once you read past the headline.

Different poll, morning consult, found Trump’s approval rating slipped three points after the first week from 52% to 49%. Pew had his approval rating at 47% in first week and it was probably lower last week.

DOGE is a huge liability and the bill that will come out of cloture will add trillions to our debt and cut social safety net programs that are broadly popular.

47 percent is strong. Biden had an average 37 percent, and only 31 percent approve of Democrats.

44 percent approve of deporting all illegal immigrants vs 39 percent who say they only want violent criminals deported.

60 percent approve of troops going to the border with Mexico.

It is not strong at this point in his presidency, especially if you compare it to Biden's approval at this point in his presidency.

Biden’s average approval was lower and he didn’t come in to his second term with a mandate either. Trump is doing just fine.

Trump won by a historically small margin and he was running against a weak candidate in a poor economy at a time where incumbents were being booted everywhere. Lots of people who voted for him want a better economy. They don’t want anything else he is serving, so if he delivers chaos, dysfunction, and no baseline economic change or something worse: it’s over.

They’ve been feeding off the pigs’ trough like everyone else. Lots of pork barrel spending, building unneeded and unwanted military parts, and a lot of other wasteful spending. It’s not accurate to frame this as only a DC problem. This is where the capital is, but the corruption is nationwide.

So what? Winning isn’t a mandate to violate the law. It isn’t a mandate to bypass congressionally approved processes and procedures.

Wining the presidency is only that. It’s one of three branches of government. No one elected a dictator, even though you keep blathering on like we did.

DP. Feeling a little insecure about the very narrow margin of his vote? Trump won by 1.5 percent of the vote—he won a plurality of the vote, not a majority of the vote.

This. All America sees is a billionaire who likes Nazis getting our social security numbers and destroying government agencies that keep us safe and healthy with teenage boy cyber criminals who also like Nazis and have ties to Russia. Oh, and the President wants to destroy Canada, tax tequila, hurt American businesses with supply chains, and build hotels in Gaza.

I think they already realized they have no future, so why not go out with a bang. There’s little point in getting hetted up about climate change and other problems because they can see they aren’t going to be addressed.

There is nothing reflective about the nation as a whole in CA.

We were told women would elect Harris. Didn’t happen.
