On Oct. 7 I was horrified by what happened. I also said to my husband and friends that this would benefit Trump and that Bibi would use the tragedy to help Trump get elected. He did. Bibi also ignored the intelligence that indicated that something was being planned. I’m not saying he knew that Oct. 7 would be as horrific as it was but Bibi wasn’t averse to something happening that would enable him to rally support around him and avoid losing power and going to jail.

why did it take the IDF so long to respond on 10/7? Hours and hours went by.

I don’t think you can give credit to Trump. That guy is so self centered he would have made sure to delay this ceasefire until he became president. Literally what’s another week? But the ceasefire was eventually beaten Netanyahu and Biden not Trump.

Netanyahu was the one holding out. He did not want a ceasefire and still does not want a hostage deal. This is just something to get in good with Trump but it is meaningless. This will change nothing but the US press coverage.
