Convincing parent to part with stuff

We packed it up and "put it in storage." She is two years into her senior living apartment and hasn't asked for a thing. Sometimes she says my kids can have this or that and I say: great idea, let me add it to my list (which I do have in notes) but that stuff is long, long gone.
