I mean, why did anyone vote for him? Women, Blacks, Latinos--why? Political scientists and politicians will be analyzing this for years, but I think it comes down to the fact that there are a lot of unhappy and scared people in this country. Trump found a way to speak to them, he gave an explanation for their unhappiness and fear and he promised them things will get better. Of course it won't get better for a lot of his voters, but he convinced them it would. |
Because Trump reminds them of their dad/boyfriend/husband |
Didn’t white women in general break for Trump? |
Well in my circle all the uneducated, men & women, voted Trump. The educated men, who make a ton of money, voted Trump. Their SAHM wives with little education voted the same. |
It's a blame game. It's an easy game to play. The making things better game is a hard game to play. |
He lost ground with college-educated women and 65 plus voters. I can't remember if it was just the female 65 plus photos or all the 65 plus photos. I think he increased his percentage with the other groups. |
Can’t speak for uneducated white women but this white woman with a graduate degree voted for him out of exasperation of the left’s wokeness. |
You underestimate some of his voters. They might not be optimistic about what Trump wants to offer, but they are willing to give it a shot because they are convinced that Democrats will not try anything. Some of his voters know they are taking big risks. |
College educated women was one of the groups where Trump did worse this election so that is a little bit of an outlier vote. |
Trump taps into people's fears. He's a chronic liar, worse than the worst used car salesman, unafraid to promise anything to get what he wants. The dopes who vote for him are seduced by his entertainment value & willingness to say the most base of thoughts they can't say out loud. The rich--they just want those tax cuts and no government oversight or restrictions. |
I think that might have been true in 2016 but this time around, we know exactly who he is. Where is the big risk? I agree with you about them not believing Democrats would fix anything, so wouldn't it be less of a risk to give Trump another shot? |
No, they didn’t. |
He increased his numbers with working class whites, and Hispanics. |
You sound uneducated yourself. Degree of education is a common demographic distinction used by pollsters. People without a college education are the largest group of Trump supporters. He is below 50 percent with college educated voters. |
Same. |
