Is anyone happy with their club or coach?

I was happy with Loudoun Soccer travel, coach TL. The team and my kid improved a lot to the point they almost beat the higher level Loudoun Soccer team in a tournament that had some guest players from the even higher level team.
The opponents were getting really frustrated the game was tied.

Very happy with NVA and PL. I know there is ton of hate on here but if you are a defensive player then it is a great spot. PL has been nothing but great for my DD and she just recently committed. No complaints about the organization, playing style, playing time, and coaches. When we joined the team, all of the players and parents were very inviting. Its like a big family and we are ALL rooting for each other.

My family and I are new to the DMV area and we quickly got our son involved in SYC travel ball. He made the EDP team. He is doing well, but not as good as he was before we arrived. My son came from a team that was very close and friendly.
I explained to him prior to our arrival that the intensity and attitudes in the area would be elevated. I think he finally gets it. He is only 11 and still wants to build strong bonds with kids in his peer group.
His current coach is not the best in my opinion, but he does give the whole team fair playing time.
The coach definitely favors the MLSnext teams that practice the same nights we do, on the field next to us. It's quite apparent when he walks over to them and ignores our kids 20 minutes at a time.
The club is expensive and not impressive. Since we already paid, we will hang out for the full year, but most likely won't return.
We will probably try a local club like Gunston and let him decide when he gets older whether he really wants to pick up his intensity and continue playing soccer at a higher level.

They favor MLS Next cause that is where the money is.

Unfortunately with such a large club you end up with coaches of various levels. Sorry to hear that your coach is not focused in on his team during training. We are new to SYC and have had a great experience with the current coach.

Syc is notoriously toxic from coaches, to parents, to most of all the players. We always hate playing syc teams because they are nasty as heck to make up for the lack of talent. They've never beat my player's team so it's not a dislike from a greater skilled team either.
