Council hears from Inspector General this morning on MCPS spending

Even the council member should have been on top of this. None of them should be allowed to hide behind the ol I wasn’t aware or how could this happen. If this was the private sector you know that the top people are paying attention to the money.

If this was the private sector, many of these people would have been fired for their incompetence.

Key takeaway - They need a modern Contracts management system, process, and better Audit/Control process. They should look for a better General Counsel or attorneys than who helped with the EV Bus contract. They need better internal training and compliance procedures.

Based on the Financial Mgmt committee meeting they are putting into place a better Contract Mgmt system. It's supposed to be in testing soon. Don't know when it will come online because they need better Project/Program management.

And what changes have been made since (2024)?

True. But these bad people think taxpayer funding is plentiful.
