NP. This is the most bizarre "comeback." Beyonce and Taylor Swift are indeed, real people. Chappell Roan's stage persona is a character, as the PPP correctly stated. |
So fun! Like going to a Chapell Roan concert! Oh wait… |
This flash in the pan will be over before she even really started. |
Someone posted that she's bipolar and that makes sense, especially if she's unmedicated. There are a few artists I follow who have mental health issues that make touring difficult so they either don't tour or they just do small shows or select festivals. Granted by doing this they will never be household names.
I actually saw her over the summer at a music festival in May before I knew who she was and the crowd she drew was huge and she seems she only got bigger since. I think she probably got so popular so fast without realizing the impact on her mental health. |
+1 She's a professional. |
She bipolar and she went from singing to 50 people to 25000.
She literally went from playing on the side stage to the front stage in a weekend. She went from walking down the street unnoticed to being attacked by paparazzi in a week. She is obviously having a nervous breakdown. If you haven’t watched her on the red carpet or any other interactions with media, you would be confused. if you watched her in the last six weeks you would’ve seen this coming. The reality is, this industry at this point should have something in place for the support of new artists, and old artists, and former artists… and anybody in between. |

The “industry” Isn’t ever protecting a bipolar woman, they’re full of pedophiles and sex offenders. Get real. |
I’ve only heard the songs that play on the radio, but my impression has been ersatz Cyndi Lauper. |
Drawing attention to mental health is a pretty generic phrase and not always a good thing.
Never heard of this person but throwing out the words mental health doesn’t actually do anything for anyone. |
Yeah this. Canceling all the shows is unprofessional. But “being professional” is not a huge concern when you are in mental crisis. I hope she can stabilize and figure out what she wants. Honestly, I’m surprised anyone even wants fame anymore, it’s not worth the $ |
I just read that she has performed over 800 concerts in her career and cancelled only for the following reasons: 1) COVID shutting everything down cancelled 2 shows 2) 3 shows cancelled because of a terrorist threat in Vienna 3) 1 show cancelled because of a military coup in Thailand That's it. |
I have tickets to All Things Go. My daughter is an OG Chappell Roan fan - as in Pink Pony Club was her top song of 2020? 2021? Whenever it came out. So our family has enjoyed Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess for a year, and we were really excited when Chappell blew up the way she has. She is exceptionally talented and entertaining.
I’m disappointed that she canceled, but I’m not surprised. I honestly expected it given recent events. Still going to ATG - too expensive a ticket to bail entirely. But I wouldn’t have gotten the tickets at all. I do respect her need to step back. But it should be a step back from everything, not this selective “this concert but not that one.” |
Why would bring bipolar affect her ability to go on tour? Why can she only tour at large venues and not the smaller ones she agreed to do before she blew up? |
Her name is Kayleigh. I mean, what do we expect |
Most likely there's commitment with the bigger venues and it's harder for her to drop. If she's not stable then it will negatively impact not just her but everyone around her. Selena Gomez talked about how hard touring was for her as well. She had her kidney issues but it also made her mood swings worst. |
