MCAP report scores spring 2024

The MCAP Spring 2024 reports came home with our 9th grader (WJ) in his backpack earlier this week.

Lucky you. If you can share, is last name towards beginning of alphabet? Are they sending alpha order?

My fourth grader’s came home last week. My sixth grader’s have not come home.

My 5th grader got his in his backpack last week. I don't love that he could read it before me, and I'm sure the kids compared scores. I feel like it could be pretty deflating if you didn't do well.

4th grader, got ours yesterday. I don't think my kid cared enough about his score to open the envelope and compare scores.

Seems like scores for the MCAP are broken down roughly by standard deviations.
Getting a 4 is basically doing 2 standard deviations above the average (only ~5% of students scored 4s according to the paperwork they send with the score report.)

Nothing yet for my now 7th grader

I love how they finally figured out how to publish scores almost promptly, and they publish them the wrong way.

Current 5th grader brought home his mcap scores from spring of 4th grade. Also 7th graders scores were sent from school.

Mcps? Ha! Wishful 🤔

If it were an MCPS test, it would be in parentview already. It only takes them a few weeks for tests they admin. MCAP however is a state test so not exactly MCPS' job.

So why is mcps making students sit for hours for the test inside a mcps building during mcos school hours?

I got my kid's MCAP score for Algebra I only because it was in the graduation report. The kid's homeroom teacher never passed them out even though a bunch of other kids in school got them back in October. Frustrating!

I know 750 was the cutoff for Proficient in 2024. Anyone know what the percentages were for how many kids got Level 3 (proficient) and how many got Level 4?

Our middle school says they will send them with the MP1 report card. I am not sure when that will be.
