He wrote a bestselling book essentially about raising boys in a time of toxic masculinity. That doesn’t mean he can’t be an ass in real life of course but it seems odd for sure. It just seems given his history that we’ve never heard anything remotely like this before and he does it to Blake, a huge star with a very powerful husband? It doesn’t quite add up. It seems like they’re throwing whatever rumors they think could stick to make him look bad. It’s a real bad look for Blake and Ryan. She’s getting a lot of criticism for rom comming the movie and I just saw on her story she posted an interview about how important it is to shed light on domestic violence. Seems a little desperate. I think they’re getting a lot of backlash and maybe Justin is not as easy to walk over as they thought. |
+1 |
I have not read the book and don't care for Lively generally, but it seems like she really sucks at promoting her crap businesses lately: the stupid alcohol post with Princess Kate diss, now the haircare line instead of talking about domestic violence. I don't really know what her and Ryan Reynold's endgame is. They are billionaires already, and the world doesn't need more celebrity businesses. |
It must be addicting to post something mildly cute on instagram and get like a million likes and supportive comments about how gorgeous you are and how enviable your marriage is. Then it makes you want to do more and more for that validation. I’m betting at this point there are a lot of people making a lot of money off them who get in their ear and tell them they need to do more. Bigger social media team for all the banter, you need to launch a hairline, launch a non boozy drink line, now do booze, cross promote your movies, and so on. It creates work and $$$ for a bunch of people. Doesn’t mean they are all good ideas. |
I’ve never understood the love for her. Don’t find her beautiful or talented. She’s plain. They are always desperate for adoration |
This movie launch seems like a huge cluster. |
Justin Baldoni has hired PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan, who represented Johnny Depp during the Amber Heard trial… so there’s that. |
Who? Lively's camp? Baldoni seems respectful for the entire marketing push. Others don't seem to be as respectful imo. Does anyone remember the rumors years ago when The Town (movie) came out? Who put those out? I think people need to act like adults. At some point everyone works with people they don't get along with. It is life and if there is a real problem, talk to HR. If it's ego, you push it aside for a big project, get the project done, congratulate one another, and move on. Yes, some people work harder than others and sometimes someone needs to pick up slack. It stinks, but it happens. You don't create drama and rumors like in middle school. Grow up. |
It’s wild to me that you guys all care about what’s going on in the lives of the actors as if it affected the movie outcome.
It’s definitely a chick flick, The acting was amazing, I really liked it. |
Probably because he realizes he is up against major Hollywood people with "camps" to push their narrative out. It is probably causing stress and he realizes he needs help to deal with it. |
Go watch Twisters. It’s smarter than this film. |
Um, ok. |
Why are you twisting yourself into knots trying to defend him when the ENTIRE cast unfollowed him? |
Not the poster you are asking this question to but it seems like the theories out there are that people chose to rally around Blake and Ryan. Ryan in particular is very powerful in this industry right now and you don’t want to cross him. Colleen Hoover practically begged Justin Baldini to direct and play the character. He did not want to do both and she really pushed him. She let him option the rights to her baby - this book that fans love. And then all of a sudden she just turns on him? It’s clear she is completely starstruck around Blake and it seems like she just fell in line. This movie was getting a lot of criticism. There was a lot of time in between a bulk of the shooting in the movie and the writers and actors strike and then when they wrapped the movie. I think Blake and her team panicked and got Ryan involved and they decided to make Justin the fall guy. Every time I read or hear about this it just really seems like Middle School behavior from the cast. Maybe Justin deserves it? It’s just really hard for me to justify grown professional adults acting like this towards someone. We all hear of sets where people don’t get along, but I have never seen this kind of behavior before. Add that to the criticism Blake is getting for trying to make Barbenheimer happen again with the cross promotion of Deadpool, making this a fashion show, and promoting her hairline, instead of at all talking about the serious subject matter of this movie, and it’s just weird. I am betting the truth is somewhere in between all these rumors. But it seems like the cast is a very immature and justin seems to be taking the high road. |
You’re right, it doesn’t make sense that Colleen Hoover would all of a sudden turn on Justin given how much she wanted him to play Rile. Seems to make more sense that he behaved inappropriately than being starstruck like by Blake lively. |
