What age is the most difficult to parent?

I would say the same for my kid with ADHD (4.5-6 I guess). That’s when she got diagnosed and we had to make a lot of changes but doing so well now.

My other kid was an angel baby and toddler but started having meltdown in late preschool and early kindergarten. Maybe I’m just bad with that age?

Agree that if your child has adhd or similar diagnosis age 4 to 6ish is SO HARD! I am not there with my son yet but have heard and seen that teenage years with these kids are actually nice. You've already done the emotional dysregulation stuff and the crying and worrying about their safety stuff, and if youve put the work in, they usually turn in to really cool and interesting kids with the right support. I think parents with neurotypical or easy kids are the ones who dread teenage years because its the first time they experience the pain of a dysregulated child!

14-15

first kid was so darn moody during this time, getting better at close to 17.

Second kid is there now and pushing boundaries like crazy, I don't know how to parent this since I've always been a rule follower.

My 13yo is the worst. He seems happy around his friends. Anything mom does is annoying. Anything little sister does is annoying. He is so unpleasant and grumpy.
