To get to UMBC parking lot by 12:30pm, leave no later than 10:30am if in N or E MoCo. If in Western MoCo, leave by 10am to reach by 12:30p. But could depend on day of week.

If you get there that early, won't the earlier graduation's attendees still be occupying the parking spaces?

I leave in Germantown, I left my house at 12:00pm and it took me less than 45 minutes to get to UMBC via the ICC yesterday.

UMBC has dominated the graduation game. It feels hideously scary…

It's hideously scary that there aren't a lot of adequately-sized venues in MoCo or the DC-Baltimore corridor?

I think this FOX 5 video talks about the controversy with MCPS and UMBC in terms of the graduation.

DAR wasnt that bad. Graduation took about three hours, traffic was a nightmare around the hall--all the ice cream trucks made it worse--and the parking gods were with us, we got legal street parking a block away at 915am.

Good news. Also, UMBC was fine. The graduation ceremony took about two hours. The only traffic was from waiting for people from the morning graduation ceremony to clear the parking lot. We dropped off, got some coffee on campus, then walked back for the beginning of the ceremony.

Parked at 9:15am for a 4pm graduation?

I thought it was prohibited? At least at Umbc. Do they sell it?

Also can you buy food inside or outside the stadium?

No, for a 10am graduation

My band kid has to be at school at 6:15 AM to get organized for buses to leave at 6:45 for a 9 AM graduation at UMBC (when all non-music, non-seniors get the day off). Please appreciate the music kids at your graduation! (My child is actually only slightly grumbly about it, since they know they are paying it forward and will enjoy the music at their own graduation.)

Wait, why do you guys have your graduation at UMBC? Why not at the high school, or another place that’s closer?

This has been discussed many times in recent threads. Short version: UMBC is somehow cheaper than having it at the high school, and there aren't many other closer venues with the same seating capacity.
