Why dies your kid think pranking someone is funny?

It’s not

And if your kid gets consequences then what ? You going to bail them out ?

I was not a controlling parent but this is a no

This comment typifies why DC/MD is so unfun. Full of anxiety addled lawyers like this one here.

They are probably on 3 year J-1 visas that can be extended two more years. There was an article in the Wapo about teachers like this brought to Alaska.

My DD, a senior at B-CC, asked me for permission to “camp out” on the field Wednesday night, which is apparently their planned prank (along with parking in the teacher’s lot.) I do not want to allow her to do anything that could harm her ability to walk at graduation, but also don’t want her to miss out on something the whole grade is doing.

Police found the group everywhere they went. Police at BCC then Westland and so on...

OP,

Seriously.

You could have withheld the name of the school. It's not like this was a dangerous prank. You could have let other seniors do their thing, regardless of what your kid is allowed to do. Now the administration knows, because it's on DCUM - or someone is bound to tell them.

You're so disappointing.

THis sounds pretty harmless. I'm known in my family as "no fun" because I HATE pranks -- anything that is mean or causes damage for "fun" seems to me not at all fun. But a campout does seem kind of fun.

If I'm that teacher, I laugh and then call in sick when there is no parking. I'm not taking metro and I'm not paying to park

So you would commit timecard fraud instead of paying $10 to park? Love your passion and integrity.

Why wouldn’t the teacher just park in the student lot….?

Not all schools have enough parking for all all students who drive to school.

Right - but the teachers arrive earlier.

If students are pulling a parking lot prank, they don’t park in the lines. They park at a diagonal all over both teacher and student parking. You can’t even drive down the lanes. It’s hugely disruptive and can become a safety issue if arriving staff and students can’t navigate normally and traffic backs up onto major roads. Then parents are dropping kids off in the middle of roads and driving randomly to try to get out of the mess. They did this at RM last year. It was a huge mess and 1st period was pretty much blown. Not funny, just tiresome.

These sounds like lame pranks. Greenwhich HS does some really good ones.

Messing with parking sounds annoying and stupid. They should be more creative
