What do you want for Mothers Day?

Thanks for the great ideas - I'm going to send flowers to her workplace. I liked that spa idea - me and another friend will treat her to a spa day on a week she doesn't have the kids.

This may be the first year she does not get flowers for Mother's day (if her XDH did that). I remember getting a huge bouquet of flowers from my work colleagues on my first Mother's day without a husband and it meant the world to me.

This is sweet. Also maybe a gift card for a spa so she could get get a massage on one of the days she doesn't have her kids. I imagine having an empty house would be one of the hardest parts of getting divorced (I am assuming she doesn't have full custody, although if she does she could likely also use a massage!).

Every year I ask for a nice indoor or outdoor plant. And every year I get candy from cvs.

A Cotopaxi hydration backpack and to go on a hike.

For me, I want to sit on my butt while my husband does everthing I do every day. Make coffee, make breakfast, feed and walk dogs, etc. I would also like a spa gift certificate. I haven't had a facial or massage in ages.

I loved being a mom. I love receiving flowers. A thoughtful card. Something I'd never buy, but DS and DH pick out for me.

These things are not mutually exclusive.

I want a nice breakfast and lunch with my family and my extended family. That’s it, no gifts!

flowers, Trader Joe’s has lovely flowers and plants
An offer to babysit if she is 100% solo parenting
Gift card to a nice restaurant

Because all salient details need to be in the OP. Otherwise they will be royally ignored. This is a rule not only on DCUM, but all message boards.

OP here - in the OP I said tangible gift ideas. I thought that would be enough to keep people from not posting judgmental things.

Indeed you did. And someone offer, BATHTUB.

Every year for Mother's Day my DH takes my car to get it detailed. He also normally goes to pick up my favorite bagels for breakfast and we have dinner out with my parents. My birthday is also in the spring so by Mother's Day I'm totally out of gift ideas and really don't want generic mother's day junk. I really love my clean car as its also our primary family car so the kids get it pretty dirty.
