You do you but if you look at top models and athletes of all colors it's not what you described. |
Correct, you want to be size 0-2 for that model or athlete look |
5’5” and 125-128 is the sweet spot, currently there and holding |
5’4, and I’d say 135. I’m 148 now. I look smaller than average though because I have the ideal hip to waist ratio. I’m a size 6-8 though. I’d prefer 4-6 size. I carry only in my hips so my arms don’t look big/look small boned. |
I’m 5’4 and look best at 115 |
5’5” and 120 pounds. I am pretty small chested (34B) and I swear that makes a difference in appearance. Late 60’s. I haven’t always been this lean. I don’t drink alcohol regularly anymore (messes with my sleep) and am in a constant struggle to avoid sugar and simple carbs. Unfortunately, crackers are my favorite food group 😀 |

Wow, these responses are interesting. I agree with a PP that at 120 as an adult I didn’t look good - I got there due to a stressful job and it wasn’t good. That was back to my weight as a high schooler. Have been as high as 160 (post pregnancy and pandemic), now 140 and would prefer to be back to low 130s. |
110ish felt best for me (petite boned); I’m currently at 120. My lowest point past college was about 105 and that was fine too but I was on a serious diet and exercise regimen that did not feel sustainable. |
What top models are 5’4”? Most humans are not too models are athletes. Weird obsession. |
Im 5’5 and I can’t imagine being back down to 120. That would be a 20lb weight loss which seems like a lot for this height and current weight. I’m not sure it’s doable. When I was 120, I was a “kid” and super skinny. No muscles and I walked for exercise. Even then, though, I always thought I was fat. I always had bigger thighs and butt and I have had a decades long struggle with body image issues.
My legs and butt continue to be bigger and my pregnancies changed my body shape so much. My rib cage is bigger, my hips wider. I just don’t know that I can get 120 on this frame anymore. |
Chest makes a huge difference in appearance! Mine are 38DD. When I wear a sports bra, people immediately ask if I’ve lost weight. It just makes me have a smaller profile. |
102 lbs |
Agree. Being small chested goes a long way in making you appear younger and thinner |
This is me as well except my stomach is big and my butt is not. I really wish my style wasn’t baggy and grunge as a teen bc I was 115 and 5’5, but pictures don’t look it. With my now much more muscular frame, I think 135 is about as low as I can go. It also was my easily maintained pre-pregnancy weight. Now in my late 40s, there is no easily maintained weight and the scale only moves down very slowly with a restricted diet and exercise. It moves up very easily! My goal is 141, 151 is more realistic and would still be a significant loss from my high of 191. |
