I'm so sick and tired of food allergies

Not exactly the same …. but yes it sometimes sucks.

My child has Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac. So we have to monitor ingredients AND count carbs/think about macro nutrients AND injection insulin AND monitor blood sugar 24/7.

So it could be worse.

We have been bringing our own food places since preschool.
ALWAYS bring extra snacks! (Low blood sugar makes this very important)
You learn where you can safely eat.

Your child will learn to advocate.
But you must teach them!

Explain that everyone has things about them that are different. You can’t always see it. Some people need glasses. Some have diabetes, asthma, allergies. Some have learning challenges and need extra help. Some people have hearing aids….. Explain in an age appropriate way.

My child is now a teen so I get it.
It’s hard.
Good luck.
