What is wrong with this home- Alexandria

$700,000 is a tear down in most of FFX county so the price doesn’t surprise me at all.

To sell at that price it probably needed some better landscaping/bright pics/exceptional staging. And now it has the stink of sitting too long all over it.

Re: your word choice of “stink” - could this house also have an odor? I think it looks well-maintained but surprised to see heavy draperies and curtains on the windows. No doubt these hold smells. Looks like house was staged but surprised to see ac filters, the draperies and blah landscaping- did the stager just give up?

I think the house looks very pretty! It’s in relatively more updated condition that our similarly aged home was when we purchased.

I wouldn't even waste my Dynamite on those kitchen cabinets.

However, I still think this is too high by about $200k. No basement and small lot. Nothing that really makes me think “wow, this is a million dollar house.”

It’s also only been on the market for less than a month.

This. Villamay and GW Pkway commute is golden for FFX Cty. Same with the one in Waynewood.

The cabinets are fine. Change countertop to white quartz with a modern white backsplash and change out hardware. Done. People have no imagination. Paint them if needed, doesn't have to be a gut. They are wood, it's fine.

+ 1 It’s incredibly dated. I’d want to gut almost everything in that house in order to live there. It screams 1990s reno. And GS scores aren’t great.

IGNORE GREAT SCHOOLS SCORES.

GS grades have become meaningless in 2024:

They are now relying on George Bush’s “no child left behind” law to rate schools.

Ignore.
