You don’t think AUSA’s try cases? They are DOJ lawyers, you know. And they work in the AD scale, often making less than those on the GS scale.

No I do not think most AUSAs try many cases. After five years most have 10-15 trials. That is not a lot.

The union advocated as hard as they could for a better budget. They can’t control Gary’s poor financial decisions, unfortunately.

NP- are you part of union leadership?

PP: No, I’m basing that statement on reading the national and local union communications on the budget process. I get frustrated when people blame the union for things the union has zero control over. They could send all the emails, request all the meetings, make all the phone calls, but ultimately, what to spend money on—which apparently was hiring new people instead of making sure the agency could pay its agreed-upon benefits to current employees—is up to Gary.

So then what’s the point of the union? It doings like it’s an impotent farce that just collects dues to sit around and whine all day.

Is this just trolling? I don’t believe that a government agency (especially an independent one) is CUTTING benefits nowadays. What’s the backstory if true?? I call BS.

It’s true. Backstory is that the agency did a ton of hiring and then received a flat budget. Had already agreed to 8% pay raise, so had to reduce other benefits to make it work.
