what does *need* have to do with it - look at them? doesn't it already make you happy imagining putting one of those on and swanning around??

If anyone has a friend going to India ask them to bring back some clothes from Anokhi. They are the best comfortable cotton, beautiful prints and the colors don’t fade. Unfortunately they don’t sell online.

I had to click on this link. Big mistake. The dresses are really beautiful. Are the loose fitting dresses with no defined waist true to US size? And do they ever have sales?

Ha! But I already ordered the Somerset dress after seeing the posts about it. I just got it today and I am in love and I will def be swanning around* in it.

*by swanning around I mean wearing it to drop my kid off at school and telework 😃

And if you can get over the rest of what's on the site - and you're the right size for it - Vermont Country Store has a bunch of nice looking block print all cotton dresses.

^ so you don't have to wade through some really tragic clothes - here are a couple of the VCS dresses. i am too short/small to wear these so I can't speak to how they look/feel/fit in person:

Ha! Many years ago I told my friends if they ever caught me ordering mumus from VCS, it was time for an intervention.

you'd need the right sort of breezy/boho style to wear these well, but i think it's possible! and they are well priced

These are dreadful!

Agree, these are very bad. They look like a nightie a great grandma might wear.

they could go either way - dreadful if worn wrong, great if worn right. i stand by that!

DP. There is no way for these to be "worn right." So sit down.

So many beautiful ones! I'm the OP and I'm loving this thread! I've gone from thinking I wanted to add one or two special dresses to my summer wardrobe (I'm normally more of a lightweight pants person) to aspiring to wear long flowy cotton dresses every day. Thank you for all the suggestions!!

Lol, I'm not even the one who posted the thread, and I've already bought like five dresses and want to wear nothing but dresses all summer.

I also wear D&D nighties as dresses. There are linen and cotton options. All very comfy.

This is genius and they are beautiful! How is the sizing? I already have my eye on 3 of them!!

PP here. I have three different styles and here are my sizing thoughts on each:

- The square nightie (I have the black one ) - runs large but I think that's the point. I'm 5'3" 135 and got a M. It fights how I like but I have the straps adjusted to shorten a fair bit because I'm not very big up top. It's so flowy and comfy but the low back makes it still a little sexy. There's no wearing a bra with this one. I could have gotten an S probably but I kind of love the low back + potato sack comfort lol.

- The slip nightie (I have the persehphone) - fits truer to size. I got a M and love how it fits. It's a tiny bit snug in the but/hips and a liiitle big in the chest bit that's how things tend to go with my proportions. The v is deep enough to be a a little flirty but again, that depends on your measurements. I love the slits in this one - it looks so chic with tall boots. Very easy to dress up or down with shoes and jewelry. It's a great general vacation dress. Still cotton so it isn't super formal of course.

- Kaftan (I just recently got the palm stripe) - Also have the M but if I get another of this style I might try the S just to see how it fits. Runs larger than the slip nightie but not as large as the square nightie. I've only worn it once so have fewer opinions. Very comfy though and I plan to wear it as a pool/beach to dinner transition outfit this summer.

OMG PP, love these! I just ordered the slip nightie in Persephone and depending on how I like it may get the palm stripe Kaftan too. I'm 5'2" and 125, so thanks for sharing your measurements, it helped a lot!

This was impressively flattering on me. Lots of AF dresses are 100% cotton.

I found this brand from this thread and recently ordered dresses and a linen set. The clothing is absolutely beautiful and such great quality. I am very happy with my order. Every piece was true to size. Shipping took quite a bit longer than estimated.
