Please suggest where to get a 14 yrs boy a perm

I let my son get a perm. I wasn't enthusiastic about it but it looks pretty good! We went to a salon that primarily serves the Chinese community and the place was packed with teens/young men getting perms.

They look ridiculous.

Not only that, but think of the chemical process on their developing body. The smell alone should serve as a warning not to put it on your teen. omfG!

🙄

Let me guess, you continued with mani/pedis while you were pregnant with your son? I guess you like like endocrine disrupters for your boys.

I don’t waste money on that nonsense anyway but even if I had I wouldn’t be an uppity b!+ch like you.

Look at any group of teen boys. It’s not the 80s perms you are imagining. Here’s a quick search on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/pin/for-baylor--165436986300671372/

Not, PP, but gosh -- I actually think that style is cute.

Not PP, but you are overreacting to their rude post -- grooming isn't "nonsense."

Quite literally just google image search broccoli haircut.

It’s a fade with curls on top, and it does look like broccoli.

Do kids who naturally have curly hair look ridiculous to you?

Absolutely, if they let it grow into a mop like these hairstyles.

My boys have natural curls but I don't let them walk around with broccoli hair.

Wowm unclench before you give yourself a hernia. You are far too invested in controlling boy's hair.

Its inspired by the K-Pop craze. It’s kinda ugly but it grows out. Boys hair grows fast.

Anonymous wrote:My DS has been considering getting a perm. I purchased the curls with out the perm solution and attempted to curl his hair at home, allowing him to experience the sensation firsthand. To his dismay, he remarked that it resembled broccoli! He has thick, straight, black hair. Can anyone recommend a good place to get it done, and what's the typical cost for this service?

When my kids want unnecessary cosmetic treatments they have to pay for it themselves. When DD and DS wanted to dye their hair blonde I said if that's what you two want to spend your money on, you have my permission. Nothing wrong with getting a perm if that's the style your son likes, but you should not be paying for it.

OMG as a parent of two teenage boys with (natural) curly hair, I assumed this was a joke. I'm blown away that this is a thing. But my oldest got his hair cut recently on an NYC trip and I realize it does look like a fade with a broccoli top, so maybe my kid is finally semi fashionable? That's even more shocking!

I think a good place to try to get a boys perm might be a cosmetology school-one that does services for the public. They are supervised by the teachers. The students are typically young and enthusiastic and would probably really get into doing it.

And to those who are horrified by a 'gasp' BOY getting a perm-well I guess I'm older than them, because as a teen in the 80's, I knew plenty of boys with perms! It's ok, really : ) it grows out. Let them enjoy their hair while they have it-trust me, none of the 80's boys I knew have any now lol.
