Sorry. Meant no way Chicago is double that. |
ED acceptance rate. UVA gives its ED acceptance rate (and even breaks it down by in-state vs OOS). Chicago doesn’t. |
Also hiding % of class filled in ED rounds, number taken off waitlist, EA admit rate. Last April released first CDS ever (was for 21-22 instead of 22-23, which other schools had already released last April). Still no 22-23 release even…. |
Many schools do not fill out every box on the CDS. For example, waitlist numbers, off the top of my head. Even if the CDS is “a year behind” u are saying u know for a fact that it’s incorrect??—that they r lying on the document or made an error that they r deliberately not correcting? That’s a bold statement and that’s fine if you r privy to inside information of their errors or concealment. |
Name another selective school that fails to release ED and waitlist numbers. Maybe Colby. Otherwise, you can’t. Chicago is sketch on this; no need to be an apologist. |
As for the class rank 48% submitted data, logic is your friend. Lots of CDS data out there: find a selective school that has anywhere near 48% class rank submission and get back to me. Oops, you can’t…. |
You are the one making the claim; you back it up, that University of Chicago has lied on the CDS. |
Many schools do not release waitlist numbers. Columbia University, as an example, does not. |
Found this which includes both hard data that may answer and actually circle back to OP’s original question. And for those who enjoy speculation, it also includes discussion on EA, ED1, ED2, and RD admission rates. Something for everyone. Enjoy!

People are guessing abut the 30-40%. the 48% who don't rank IS ON THE CDS. The most recent one and also, every single one before. the numbers may vary a digit or two, but it's reported annually. GOOGLE UCHICAGO CDS |
U Chicago has special merit for Chicago public school kids, so they get a shit ton of (most unsuccessful) apps, and Chicago public school ranks. |
Yes, it is. I think the issue was that an individual was stating (without supporting g the claim) this information was inaccurate and that similarly ranking schools show a much lower rate of students submitting rank. |
You know the dean of admission has publicly stated that it’s about 25% in each of EA, ED1, ED2, and RD. You don’t have to believe him. But that info is out there. |
Stop prevaricating. Chicago had never released a CDS before: https://chicagomaroon.com/39053/news/university-releases-common-data-set-for-first-time-shedding-light-on-admissions-process/ |
You’re joking, right? Columbia, which had also never released a CDS before last year and now only does so for their general studies and engineering schools? Try harder. |
