I’m pretty sure anyone who went to a Greek dominated school would remember these details. I certainly remember that that top sororities at wake forest in 1999 were KKG, Chi O and Pi Phi. It’s not an insignificant detail of college if you go to a big greek school.

It’s interesting because Chi O is lowest tier at both UVa and VT

the "ranks" are different at every school. Kappa is top at UVA and bottom at another school which I can't recall right now LOL. Chi O is a very southern sorority, founded at U Arkansas, and tends to better in the south where there is a lot of cache to being a Chi O and legacies going back generations.

KD is top tier at VT but mid-tier at UVa, for example.

Definitely random because Chi O is top tier at SMU and it doesn’t get more southern than that.

I mean at my school in the Midwest in the 1980s Chi O was the fat girl sorority. So. But definitely bottom tier in Virginia for some reason.

You're wrong, not everyone wants the top 3. My DD went in knowing she wouldn't fit with those girls and knew she'd be dropped, which she of course she was. She did say they were very nice and she was pleasantly surprised by them. But it is absolutely about wealth and connections in those sororities and at UVA those girls come from boarding schools in the Northeast. If you are not already known to them before rush, you're probably not getting in, even if you're a legacy.

UVA is slowly changing. While Greek life will be somewhat important, it won't be as important as it once was. UVA is getting kids from different backgrounds even out of state kids.

Chi-o is NOT top tier at SMU. It’s 2024. Kappa and Pi Phi run the table now that Theta got kicked off. Theta was the top house forever.

LOL. Just because UVA is trying to rewrite its extensive history, doesn't mean it is succeeding at doing so. Greek Life will always be synonymous with UVA.

I think a lot of people are unfamiliar with Greek life and are not aware that it’s relatively small at UVA compared to at other flagships.

It’s a time-consuming , anxiety-filled, wild experience everywhere, but UVA sororities don’t came close to the the ones at southern schools.

Look up Bama Rush immediately. It’s so ridiculous that Netflix made a documentary about it.

No, it’s not true. And I don’t know how this woman’s son would even know who has been called back and where they are all from. According to her, he did get called back to the #s6-10 ranked frats, but not #s1-5 because he’s international and not in state.
