The OIG finds that Biedleman violated MCPS policies and code of conduct

In the meantime the best people in the system have fled.

That was done when the BOE hired Jackson Lewis to put out their mad libs redacted report. The OIG isn't looking into that because the BOE already paid off Jackson Lewis to clear them and McKnight.

Even with the redactions, it's pretty clear the report didn't clear McKnight and strongly suggested that she was aware of Beidleman's reputation at the very least. The BOE chose to frame the report as clearing McKnight, which is why they resisted releasing even the redacted version. If she were blameless, she would waive her personnel records privilege so that the BOE could unredact her name in the public report.

I know of one lawsuit. Why does this article claim there is a second lawsuit?

The investigative report about Dr. Joel Beidleman released today by the Montgomery County Inspector General clearly and professionally documents years of disturbing and egregious behavior. The report finds that this behavior indisputably violated both MCPS policies and the Employee Code of Conduct.

As I’ve said since this issue came to our attention this summer, I will take swift, decisive action based on investigative findings. Now that the OIG has referred this matter to me, I am moving forward without delay to ensure that wrongdoing is held to full account.

It is crucial that every MCPS employee, student, and parent know that any type of abusive behavior will not be tolerated. It’s why I’ve been working diligently with my team — joined by a diverse group of local and national experts, staff, and other critical stakeholders from across the MCPS community — in developing and implementing our aggressive and comprehensive action plan: To rebuild trust, ensure no one is failed by our system, and to make clear that harassment, bullying, intimidation, and retaliation have absolutely no place in the MCPS community. Ensuring a safe and positive work environment for our staff means a safe and positive environment for our students to learn, and that is our main focus and commitment.

What this post is missing is that the email she sent to staff went on to talk about reading scores. It’s like she thinks we’re too stupid to notice.

Time for her to leave

Too many loopholes in this story and a lot of it is plain dumb. First off it was a sexual relationship and she sent Beidleman nude photos. Secondly who dies their hair to not be attractive to the principal. There are so many dumb statements in this investigation. Are these children or adults?

Ew. Who are you? Why are you victim-blaming? Get lost

no one sounds like a victim
These women are nuts just like him
and the teacher who admitted to having a sexual relationship with him needs to be fired.

Does anyone know why the OIG didn’t investigate claims of students being harassed by him? I thought there were reports of that too (beyond his comments about how females were dressing).

The people posting this are the same ones who are always looking to find fault with MCPS no matter how much of a stretch it is. There's no reason with them.

She blamed the scandal and events going on in the world as reasons why her school staff are miserable. There continues to be no self-reflection.

Schools are drowning right now with added responsibilities due to low staffing but central office "instructional specialist" positions seem to be multiplying like Gremlins who got wet after midnight.

This is depressing. She seriously fails to see how her poor leadership, lack of transparency and awful policies have MCPS the mess that it is? She wants to point the finger at everyone else? What a gutless, worthless “leader” she is.

The OIG doesn't have authority to do more.

The BOE does... but based on past experience, they will do little.

All the BOE can do is fire Monifa. Monifa is the one who has to fire Beidleman.

Seems like the allegations have been substantiated by the Washington post, the Jackson Lewis report and now the OIG. But yet he’s still an employee? What threshold does MCPS use to terminate employment?

Hah, the principal at Damascus who delayed reporting a gang rape in the locker room had a nice new position created for her at central office, instead of being fired.

It's the culture of MCPS. It's infuriating frankly.

The former Damascus principal is now on the committee to tell McKnight how to deal with Beidleman.

What????!!!!! I just knew when they put this “task force” this together it would be with corrupt people. Why would they think it would be ok to have these people serve on this? McKnight needs to go. She needs to go ASAP. She clearly is unable to lead. As a staff member, this is infuriating. We never will be able to trust them and stay safe as long as they all are still protecting themselves.

That’s it. They all have dirt on each other so they maintain ranks knowing they will be protect each other because it means protecting themselves. Beidleman got a 30k bump in salary (which he is continuing to collect during this investigation) when he was promoted…. and MCPS FOUGHT TO NOT give teachers a cost of living adjustment even with inflation through the roof. It’s truly disgusting. Central office needs a regime change NOW. That’s the ONLY way to restore trust; Have trustworthy people in these positions.

This man was clearly setup and clearly ran the school with success. The teachers weren’t happy because they are disgruntled with mcps in general. Was Beidleman innocent? No
Let’s look at all of the facts in these results. Most of this was done off school grounds and after hours. Most of these statements from staff are so juvenile that I thought I was reading statements from children. The fact that Jane Doe admitted she had a sexual relationship with Beidleman to me throws the case out the window and let’s move onto the next. These people are adults right? Does the school hire people with some type of disability where they feel they are still children and therefore conduct themselves as such? Jane Doe had a mutual relationship and is now retaliating because she found her next prey and wanted to move on. Both were married both had affairs both worked at the school and both knew they violated the code of conduct and both didn’t care. As for the hiring of the assistant principal they conclude Beidleman was not part of the hiring process and she couldn’t even show text messages because something was wrong with her phone. I wouldn’t even look at this case if I was a judge. I wouldn’t even bother with this nonsense and pure disgruntled group of women with no clear facts. Throw this whole case away and let mcps move on. These women clearly want money to pay off their loads of debt and rebuild their lives from men leaving them and their children. Wake up people!
