What's the NWSL? |
It’s the National Women’s Soccer League. |
For Chantilly NWSL: Not Winning Sore Losers |
Didn't Loudoun play in FPYC and Valor (which is Chantilly's travel team) Rec tournaments also in recent seasons? Obviously, no one has a problem with Loudoun playing in tournaments except for some Not Winning Sore Losers. The problem with Chantilly is that they do not have good coaching. Just some talentless yeller coaches who will never get their players to make a high school team. Also, what is the big deal about a parent filming their kids game? I've been filming my son's games since he was 5 years old playing T-ball. Ha! Is that such a crime? |
It's rec. Only Loudon pretends that low level rec is travel |
Waaaaaaaaaaa! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
What happened with filming? You got harassed? I have never heard of filming not allowed. |
Not Herndon Cup, but I've had rec parents from CYA's rec team (13G Weber) threaten to call the cops on me multiple occasions for filming my own daughter's match. They'd send parents, coach, and CYA staff to demand that I stop filming. |
Call the cops? That is nuts. Almost every game I've attended have one of those Veo / Trace cameras. |
That's crazy. Been a "soccer parent" for over 10 years and I always try to film or photograph highlights from my kids' games, both rec and travel. Never heard of this. |
f Maybe this was parent filming on wrong side of touch line or below 18s behind goal etc. Otherwise there must be more to the story |
Not uncommon on teams to have a parent acting like the team photographer - they seem to get self-esteem from sharing photos of the team with other parents although it is always like 50% of the photos are their own kid. And they are never taking photos when their kid is not in the game. Sometimes there are parents vying with each other for this unofficial position and it creates some entertainment |
When a PP mentioned CYA 13G I thought of some of the parents whose kids are likely on that team. I deal with them in other sports and activities. Not too surprised to hear that they're freaking out about some thing or another. |
I am grateful when someone else with a better camera takes photos and videos. I never have my phone out at the right moments, and would feel weird filming the whole game as though I was trying to put together some kind of highlight reel. The parents on our team who do it tend to be good about getting everyone in the photos/videos, and they get some great shots. It's a travel team so the kids have been playing together longer. We're lucky to have parents who support all the kids not just their own. |
My dd enjoyed the tournament.
CYA, during the last all star tournament we had a dc play in, last spring, the CYA coach and parents complained and complained about having to play against a travel team from Puerto Rico that for some reason were playing in a local rec all star tournament. It was a bad tournament because no one had a chance against the travel team (and why were they even there, guess the organizer was desperate for $$$ as the tournament had very few teams participating), but the CYA parents complained the most! |
