Colleges for a strong dancer and student

She would have to tryout but the U of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM) is excellent and a Broadway + other top venues feeder.

Middlebury doesn’t really give merit aid. I checked the CDS and it was something like 32K in non-need aid and 70 million in need based aid.

Her reduced tuition is $50K and her parents make $250K/year with no other kids.

Was she a 2023 HS graduate? DP but as far I know Middlebury doesn’t give merit aid unless they changed this year.

All aid from Middlebury is awarded based on financial need. Middlebury does not provide merit aid.

It’s difficult to find a college that has a sufficiently good dance program and good academics. As a former dancer I would suggest focus on the best academic program that’s in a city where your DD can take professional level classes on her own off campus

Yes, don’t rule out Utah. I’m on the west coast and dancers with your daughter’s profile from my child’s school and studio go to Utah every year. SMU is another one that she should not take off the list. I think dance is an area where you really should focus on getting acceptances first and deciding based on geography second.

There are 3 schools (2 already mentioned) that have relationships with dance schools in the mid Atlantic

I don’t think this student is looking for a college conservatory and/or BFA program. Those leave very little time for academics outside of dance.

Elon is very popular on the Dance Parents FB page. Several students from the DMV have gone there and are successfully double majoring.
