Dorm rooms and interior designers

Anyway.

In hindsight I wish I had done more to make my dorm room pleasant to live in. It was a tough year and more pleasant living conditions would have been nice.

There are a lot of AI-generated photos on the internet. You can’t believe everything you see. Even Pinterest has false photos.

These dorm rooms are mostly in schools like Old Miss where marriage comes before educating women.

Designer is ridiculous but a nicely put together room with storage (most dorm stuff is intended to make best use of space) is totally reasonable.

Not really sure why girls keeping a cute clean room has to be knocked, but the dirty disorganized zero effort boy rooms aren’t criticized. Oh wait I know why …

Most people are not. We have 2 kids in college (one private one public), have moved them in and out of dorms, and neither they nor their friends have IG worthy dorm rooms. Don't allow the vocal minority to affect your judgement

It’s not really entitlement it’s mothers who can’t let go. It is mostly a southern thing, the type of girls who go to large Southern Universities with 80% acceptance rates who are just there for the party.

It’s the pink coordinated Knick knacks with their roommates that are nauseating.

I don't think there's anything wrong with curating a space to bring you joy, especially considering the amount of time you spend in your dorm room and the fact that you might be really, really missing your parents, siblings, friends, etc. I'm more in favor than ever thinking about your stupid comment/reaction to young girls wanting to have a comforting space.

But you keep getting nauseated!

Precisely.
Won’t catch this at school churning out those seeking professional careers

Getting a headboard can be $50-80 on Walmart of Amazon to make the bed more comfortable. Carpets are around the same. You can do it inexpensively.

I'm confused - I decorated my dorm room 30 years ago. It may not have been as uniform as the ones you see on TikTok now, but I had a nice quilt, throw pillows, and we double taped artwork to the walls. We even had an area rug and cute lamps.

We’re not.

You’re the one with issues if you believe what you are fed online is representative of what people are doing.
