No, I had my windows down but wasn't thinking about the air. Otherwise I'd have windows up and AC on. Air felt kinda heavy but not too bad.

The stress and anxiety you have over this is doing you worse harm, than a 1-2 hour walk.

If you're in very very vulnerable health, sure be careful. If you're a regular jo/jane, this is no big deal. I mean, life could literally kill you. It's the risk we have of being terminal by nature.

MCPS already kept them all in for recess. Also cancelled outdoor field trips and other end of year activities.

What are you talking about? Smelling smoke does not mean someone has unhealthy stress and anxiety. It just means wow i can smell the smoke in the air from Canada -- gross.

MCPS already kept them all in for recess. Also cancelled outdoor field trips and other end of year activities.

LCPS did this too. The last couple days of school. Kids were bouncing off the walls and the adults were miserable.

That's a common sense question - and yes wildfire smoke is significantly worse. For one, people typically spend an hour or two around a campfire, and the smoke quickly dissipates. Wildfire smoke, on the other hand, comes in humungous plumes and can linger for days or weeks. Wildfires smoke also contains much more pollution/toxic chemicals. It's not just breathing in burning wood but also pollutants from buildings and other toxins. It's distressing that this is now becoming part of life on the East Coast too.

Maybe people should stop driving giant gas guzzlers?
