How long is reasonable to stay outside (DMV area) for a July birthday party?

I have a July birthday kid. We started doing a pool party at age 7. Before that it’s a bit dicey bc not everyone can swim. Even at 7 and 8 swimming levels varied pretty wildly, so we had a few decline to come bc they were nervous. But we have plenty of strong swimming friends who attend our pool also so it’s always been pretty easy.

July can be miserable and hot, but plan water or lots of popsicles and you’ll be fine. If you’re having it at home, could you get one of those big inflatable water slides? Maybe rent it? That would be fun.
