Ha. Our cards were almost always only our kids. We gave been married about 30 years, no plans to divorce.

+1 same here

For this particular family, they are both on social media but don't have pictures of each other. They have a young child. Plus their card only has pics of the child. Its not the norm in similar young families.

DP. I'm on FB and 99% of my pictures are of my kids - not my husband or me. I hate pictures of myself. Most of my friends are the same way. You sound very young.

I'm young because I think there's something off with their social media presence given their demographic?

Sorry you hate pics of yourself, but you can't project that on everyone else.

Christine was the nicest and most generous person I have ever met, and I am deeply sad and shocked with this tragedy.

This is exactly what I thought about the husband. Not everyone plasters their face all over social media. Some have reasons for that.

The same applies to you all projecting your stable long relationships here, no?

Unless you have a homicidal love triangle?

The dead guy was known to the couple and the au pair, it was not some home invasion.

So yeah, the social media may have reflected something less than 100% healthy or marital bliss state. Or not, time will tell.

He plastered himself and his dog. That's the weird part. Why have a presence at all if he's the one with the sensitive job?

Does anyone know anything about the stabber? Was he the violent type? Did he have a criminal record, and thus was barred from gun ownership?

I do not view the husband not speaking to the police as suspicious. That's the common advice given to everyone -- don't speak to the cops without a lawyer present.

Alleged stabber.

It's also NOT suspicious that the daughter isn't with the husband.

If there's any chance at all the child knows something about what happened police aren't going to give dad a crack at witness tamperinh--just in case. A 4 year old can't tesitify but she might be able to give useful info.

Moreover, even if the situation went down as he said it did, police aren't going to leave the child alone with him, in case he's despondent or suicidal.

Is that why he had a gun in the house?

yes, he would have a gun as part of his job

He worked for the IRS. A bean counter with a gun?

An IRS Special Agent does carry a gun.

Anonymous wrote:I have to admit when I saw this story I was so bummed that DCUM was down because I wanted to discuss it. Ha ha! There’s a few interesting facts.
1. The first 911 call came in from the au pairs phone and then it hung up. Then she called again about 10 minutes later and she started to talk and then the husband grabbed the phone. That seems highly suspicious to me. I think she was trying to call because she saw the husband doing some thing, but she was scared and hung up.
2. Husband refused to the police, which indicates either had something to hide, or was waiting for his lawyer.
3. the wife’s Instagram account shows their Christmas cards. There’s never a picture of the husband and wife. It’s only of the kid.

It’s always weird when it’s only the children on cards, as if one of the parents is planning to divorce.

You are being sarcastic, right? When I did Christmas cards, I only had the kids on them — and I’ve been married for 20 years! This is definitely not a sign of unrest in the family. Some of us simply don’t want our picture taken. :/

Same. No one cares about our photos. The relatives wanted to see the kids. Also married 20+ years.

I don’t know anything about this family, but because I have a job working with a lot of people and families (think along the lines of social worker) I always requested my husband do not post my photo or the kids to link us. When I had social media I had my photos with generic things online but never photos of my family. I didn’t want a crazy client to ever somehow find my family.

That hes a LEO and he refused to talk with th edetectives until he had a alwyer is a lesson to us all. He knows the cops have one motive- stick it on him.

Whispers on ND are that the dead guy was an exbf of Christine's.

It was probably the husband. But even if he’s innocent, he’s smart to get a lawyer. If you kill someone in self defense it would be madness to talk to the police without a lawyer. Really if you fire a gun under any circumstances. Or frankly if your intimate partner is murdered even if you were across the country you should have a lawyer when the police interview you.

What's ND?

Since the husband may have killed both, wise not to speak with cops.

Horrible situation for the little girl.
