Vaping weed

Anonymous
Weed has been very potent since at least the 1990s (we called it "kind bud" back then). I smoke and am pretty weed friendly. Most of the parents I know smoke too. Nevertheless, legalization has indeed brought on a dizzying array of products. Edibles that are extremely potent and vape cartridges that have who knows what else in them. I stopped vaping when I heard the reports about people developing serious lung problems due to some sketchy vapes. Too much smoking can push a certain percentage of kids to a kind of psychosis. I think this is still low, but as weed becomes more ubiquitous more kids predisposed to this will have the problem. I don't think emergency rooms are full of psychotic teen weed smokers as some on here are suggesting. There are different kind of risks today. They are low probability but risks none the less. Driving while drunk, and even driving period is still more dangerous for your teen.

Um, how about you grow up? What kind of friend group are you in that most parents smoke weed? Very very disturbing. This is why our youth are so messed up.

Yes very bad for them, everywhere and accepted, hard To tackle. My kid has been regularly using for three years older teen and I think it has really impacted their life negatively. I’ve tried just about everything.

This is upsetting. What does this mean you’ve tried just about everything? You cut off access to funds and phone?

Yup. And treatment x 2. Anyone who says weed isn’t addictive is completely oblivious

Keep at it, keep strong boundaries, took us 4x including 2 residential treatment centers to get where we are today and they are continuing treatment through their sober community.

Recovery is possible.

This thread was revived from 2022 for whatever reason, but there are many physical conditions now known to be caused by vaping, including popcorn lung (a particular type of scarring) for which there is no cure, lipoid pneumonia (also no medical cure, has to resolve over time by stopping vaping and hoping the body recovers), collapsed lung, etc. Also, disabuse yourself of the myth that second-hand vaping is harmless.

Heavy Delta 8 use has been associated with psychosis.

I don't know if that's what he used, but my nephew had a psychotic break from weed use. It was terrifying for his family.

I also have a family member who experienced psychosis after smoking pot. Very scary.

To the regular pot smokers: why put foreign chemicals into your body? Why risk it? We are already bombarded with environmental pollutants every day (microplastics, forever chemicals, pesticides, carcinogens, etc…). Why add more potentially harmful chemicals to your life? I just don’t get it.

Decades of brainwashing that weed is natural and cures everything from migraines to amnesia and anxiety. It actually just makes all of that worse.
