Become a home inspector. They are in short supply and the training is short. We just paid $500 for a 30 minute pre offer inspection. He said he did 6 30 min inspections on Saturday alone.

It’s cutting $100k, unjust want to make back $30k

OK, if you're making $350K and can't cut $70K of spending you're also making very poor life choices.

So all of you are saving 20% of you income in cash? Because to cut that, that’s what I would need to be doing without big changes.

They would go down to about 350k (2 GS14s with bonuses)....they are making way more than that now.

If they can't cut back to 350k...they need more help.

I’d look at ideas for passive income so you can still have some semblance of work/life balance. I’d consider creating a course online if you think there’s demand for your tech talent. Web apps are difficult to sell. You could consider mining Bitcoin if you have cash to cover the initial capex of a miner and energy costs. There’s working as a virtual assistant and also tutoring math/chess/technical writing/other talents locally or on Outschool.

Hmm, this actually is an interest of mine and something I had considered for retirement. I think this is the answer.

You can either continue to support the sibling or downsize and move to a home you can afford.

Your modest vacation probably is about $10-12k. Stop going on vacation for a while.

Savings and retirement make sure you have them.

I have never, ever seen a situation among high income people where they actually have to support a sibling or parent. The “have” is something they artificially create based on being the “rich” sibling or child and having too much pride and not enough common sense to admit they didn’t know how to budget or manage money, are way in over their heads, and are too scared to fix it by making changes.
