Bamboo Baby Clothes?

I heard from a friend that bamboo is a great material to make baby clothing out of.

Can anyone enlighten me?

We don't actually own any bamboo clothes at the moment (baby or adult), but we have a bamboo dishtowel that we LOVE. It's softer than cotton and does seem to have all the easy-dry and anti-ick properties that Wendy mentions above. And good for the environment can't hurt!

The cloth wipes we use with our cloth diapers are made from bamboo, and we have some socks that are partly bamboo. Both are very soft and resilient - I love the eco-benefits too.

We received as a gift a set of bamboo pajamas and socks by DreamSacks (Bamboo Dreams). Incredibly soft to the touch and were the only socks that our child couldn't kick off! I'm getting both the pajamas and socks in larger sizes now that our baby is outgrowing them.

Actually from what I've read, while bamboo may be a ecological wonder, turning it into usable fabric requires a lot of toxic chemicals. You may want to research, then start to purchase organic cotton to be environmentally correct.
