They’ll go bankrupt within a few years. |
Since ECNL is dependent on US Club for sanctioning I can guarantee costs will go up for ECNL if a Private Equity group bought out US Club. There would also be a good chance that ECNL would go to USSSA (like GA did) to cut down costs if there was a buyout. Which would be ironic. Even more ironic would be if ECNL went to GA for sanctioning. (Which is technically possible) |
I think it just depends on the rules. Will it be ran by the actual college team where players get college level coaching, training, everything that goes along with what you want with more localized competition. If it’s an opportunity as a freshman you can redshirt and still get good competition could be a great thing. Especially if it help my kid get into a great school. |
As long as parents are delusional about their kids ability and keep paying fees I don’t see how they go bankrupt? They will own the leagues and clubs will need places to play. From what I understand it’s the same equity firm who just bought surf and rush. |
The new ownership would mean ECNL is bought at as well. |
It’s alphabet soup. People that think mls next will be around in 5 years likely to be mistaken . Parents will continue to be delusional about their kids abilities but the data on the end game ( college/pro) being a fantasy are starting to be better known. The cost and time/travel for p2p is wearing thin. Couple that with not being able to play other sports even HS soccer is creating a split at u14/u15. Mlsn talent will overall water down as a result. We are driving some of the best athletes away from the sport before they can figure out their potential and how bad they want it. |
USYS is a nonprofit. |
Post whatever evidence you have that Surf or Rush has been purchased in whole or in part by Private Equity (or any investment) firm or stop spreading misinformation on the internet in an attempt to push your narrative. |
So, is US Club. Can't see that would change. Seems like powerful clubs would be more the target of PE. |
They're all nonprofits to |
Not all of them. |
|
Pretty sad PE would even consider youth sports as a business to F with.
They must be desperate to own residential real easte and youth sports.... |
Real Estate is flat right now with an expectation to turn negative. Parents still spend $$$ on their kids. Unfortunately for PE they dont understand what quality means which is what makes the the youth soccer world go round |
Not the poster but Pioneer sports is the parent company of Surf youth soccer also bought Rush recently. All you need to do is google it. |
Can ecnl be purchased without US club? |
