Are there any summer camps that take 2 yr olds? Do most summer camps offer full-day programs at this age?

Aidan Montessori has a great summer program, and they do take toddlers during the school year, but I don't recall if they take toddlers for the summer program. I think I recall that my daughter started going there in the summers when she was two, but she might have been three. They used to have several two-week programs, each focusing on a particular foreign country. I have vivid memories of watching my daughter when she was really tiny dancing a Chinese fan dance and seeing papers on which she wrote Chinese characters. I don't remember the other countries they "studied" but I do remember being impressed with the summer program. (During the school years from ages 2 to 5 she attended Abingdon Montessori in Bethesda, which is much lower key than Aidan.)

Manor Montessori has a great 2 year old summer camp. My daughter attended it last summer and loved it. They do a fun program in the summer - low key Montessori. They have a location on Mass Ave not far from the DC line. They do not do a full day program.

Does anyone know of a summer camp/program for 2 year olds in McLean/N. Arlington/Falls Church/Vienna areas? Looking for a 2-3 mornings a week program as a way of introducing our son to a preschool/group setting. Thank you.

In McLean there is Country Day School. Depending on when your child was born, it might be a mommy and child class though.

Just found out today while inquiring about the Bethesda Day Camp at Sidwell's lower school in Bethesda that while the camp program only takes them 3 1/2 and up - there is a new pre-school/day care on campus that will take 2-3 1/2 year olds this summer if there is space. Morning only or full day (nap in afternoon).

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but I just got an application for summer camp at Manor Montessori and I'm wondering if it will be a good way to prepare my 2 year old (he'll be 2 in a few weeks) for preschool in the fall. Right now I'm a full time mom and he goes to an organized playgroup where moms stay with the kids, but they have teachers and facilities like a preschool. I don't think he will have too much separation anxiety (he has a regular babysitter that comes every other week and I drop them off), but are these camps designed for kids that are already used to being dropped off at daycare? I am happy to spend the entire summer with him at home, and I have already signed up for the playgroup summer camp for the month of June. But I also would love for him to get used to a low intensity drop-off environment before the real thing in the fall and Manor has a 4 week program that runs during July.

Any feedback/thoughts would be appreciated.
