They want more college players going pro not fewer.

Paying colleges for developing talent might seem weird at first but what it will do is incentivize colleges to develop players to the highest level the way pro trams want them to be. When this occurs college teams and coaches that participate in developing to the highest level are rewarded for their efforts. What will happen is when theres money involved the end product will be a much higher level.

Colleges aren’t paying players. Sponsors and boosters are paying players in just a few sports. Because there is money to be made and eyeballs in those college sports. Sorry, soccer is not one of them.

For the girls theres a thing called Title 9. Which guarantees they'll be around for a long time

True for football not futbol. Remeber every scholarship giving to soccer is one less for football. Also money paid to a soccer player is out of the same budget that pays football players

Brown egg football has no concept of teams paying lower level teams for developing talented players. Soccer does.

The only reason college got away with not paying for developed talent was because they werent paying players. Now that college is paying players Acadamies are going to start charging colleges for talent. You want to win? That's fine euro talent is no longer free. Oh and btw MLS is probably looking at something similar.

This stinks for girls soccer because there is no money. Most likely going to be D3 only more or less as D1 goes away for most teams. Pro football has money and they don't bother paying colleges, soccer stands no chance of having this magic cash show up. You are massively overstating it when you say colleges are paying players.

Colleges aren’t paying players. Sponsors and boosters are paying players in just a few sports. Because there is money to be made and eyeballs in those college sports. Sorry, soccer is not one of them.

Here's the thread that talks about this - none of it's guaranteed. It was all recommendations that were part of the NextGen Soccer Committee report. We'll see what sticks coming out of it.

Since colleges are now paying players. Pro teams should be paying colleges for the development of players turning pro. Do this and suddenly college soccer is self funding.

They want more college players going pro not fewer.

Pro teams need to get players somewhere. Paying colleges for developing talent might seem weird at first but what it will do is incentivize colleges to develop players to the highest level the way pro trams want them to be. When this occurs college teams and coaches that participate in developing to the highest level are rewarded for their efforts. What will happen is when theres money involved the end product will be a much higher level.
