Arlington County summer camps?

I was wondering what were people's experiences with Arlington County's summer camp. Good? Bad? My DD will be turning 4.

We live in Arlington County and overall have heard nothing but good things about the camps and for the most part just as good/fun as the more expensive private camps. It's hard to answer your question because the camp offerings are so incredibly broad. Many of the options listed the County Summer Catalogue that is now available for 2009-10 are actually outifts that are separate from the county itself (meaning their not count-runy programs per se but with which the County has some type of arrangement such that they are advertised in the same place). I'm sure Arlington being the well-run county that it is has strict standards for such associated outfits and wouldn't offer them year after year if they got bad reviews/complaints. The older your child gets, the more options seem to become available has been my experience. I would suggest you look into the catalogue offerings, figure out what works for your schedule along with what interests your child, and then ask DCUM about the specific camp, e.g., Jimenez Soccer camp, All-American Sports camp, Kid Realm, Gymnastics, Basketball, Tennis, Swimming, etc. (again, not all of these will be open to 4 year olds but there's certainly something you'll both find appealing). Good luck!
