Maybe I am wrong, but I just don't get WHY this is criteria.

MLSN and GA don't care if clubs also have ECNL.

ECNL won't let any of their teams be 2nd to MLSN or GA.

Multiple clubs have tried to have MLSN as their 1st team and ECNL has their second team. When this happens ECNL threatens to take or does take girls ECNL away.

You misunderstood her question. And for heavens sake stop being in denial. It’s 2025 and the age of avoiding reality is over. All good ECNL girl players are moving to GA next season or those who got a spot. My DD is on ECNL team and our top 6 players all left. She’s hating it now.

This is one of the most batshit crazy statements I've read in awhile. Please more deets at least state and age level

This might surprise you, but ECNL is not the same in all parts of the country. This forum has gone national. Easy to believe this happens much more often than you would think. There are plenty of states/cities with strong ECNL and GA programs, weak ECNL and strong GA, and strong ECNL and weak GA.

We know its national discussio now, hence the question again what state and age level is this happening? Otherwise you're full of it. One-offs is not a movement either. There is one girl I know for examples did ECNL u13-u14, GA u15, and back to ECNL u16. So sure they left ECNL for GA for 9th grade but immediately returned to ECNL

I like how the ECNL hats are slowly accepting reality that GA is here to stay.

The mid level ECNL parents see that recruiting is spreading out to the top clubs in both GA and ECNL.

Also clubs can't hide behind a badge anymore with the ranking app.

This... LMAO!

Has zero impact on clubs, it only matter to the parents.

exactly. if they are D1 players, they go to ECNL. if they are lower level player, they go to GA and ECNLRL

And the club only cares about three kids per age group. Wake up!

The ECNL hats can try to keep selling fear about GA not getting visability with recruiters. But, it's not true.

GA has already taken half of ECNLs recruitment visibility. Think about it if you were a recruiter would you choose to look at a middling ECNL club or a top GA club?

What will happen over time is ECNL players will go to the top GA clubs and vice versa. Regionally there will be a few top GA clubs and a few top ECNL clubs then everyone else.

Possibly in time, but GA is going to need to up their showcase game. This year - three showcases (excluding champions cup which only involves a handful of clubs) with two of the three in California. Its not just improving the player pool to get more college coaches there, but also have to make the showcases more convenient for east coach coaches.

ECNL with eight showcases next year for HS age, spread throughout the country. Much more exposure.

this. the funny thing is for the GA to have a decent coach turnout there 2 big showcase, Dec and June, have to be coupled with Champions Cup Tournament and Playoffs. If they broke those out, the DEC and June showcase would be like their April showcase, maybe 50 D1 coaches. coaches really only go to see the Champions Cup teams and Playoff teams. A good judge will be this Dec if GA keeps their tournament on the first week of Dec as CASL/Visit Raleigh tournament is that same week and ECNL moved up a week their showcase now in Kansas City to the same week. That's 3 big showcases the same weekend. gonna be eye opening.

This is very true. The events are pretty well spread out both from a location and time standpoint. As a local team, it was nice to not have to travel to AZ or CA for a showcase event and were able to play last weekend in NC - and that was very well attended by college coaches.

No one from High School ages will move to GA unless they aren't getting playing time or can't handle ECNL. GA in Virginia is significantly weaker than ECNL.

Why is more showcases better?

Recruiters want quality players. They only need 5-10 minutes of watching them play to assess if they'd fit in or not on a college team.

On top of that more local showcases just means theres more crappy teams recruiters have to watch looking for quality.

Wouldn't recruiters just want all the top teams of a league at the same showcase event? Then you'd only have to go to one showcase vs several.

Just because you're on a winning team doesn't make you a good player. Also, most coaches want to see a player 7-8 times before making a decision. I showcase won't cut it.

This thread is the gift that keeps giving.

So many uninformed egotistical parents for both ECNL and GA. It’s really entertaining to read how little most you know. Full of fake opinions and stats from either side.

By all means, carry on!
