Designing a small home office, cheaply

We just moved into a new home and have a formal living room for the first time. Since we have nothing to put in it (couch and all went into the family room) we would like it be more of a home office with a small sitting area (or just one couch/chaise/chair for reading). We need a large desk (I need to spread stuff out), place for the printer, and storage for files (work files and our personal records). I work PT freelance from home and don't make much, so everything needs to be inexpensive. No clients will see it, so it should look nice but doesn't have to wow anyone.
Can anyone post sites or pictures for inspiration? I am having a hard time even visualizing what I want. The room is about 13 x 11, is off the foyer and is opposite an identical-looking dining room in a pretty standard 90's colonial. The room has windows in the middle of the front wall, nothing on the other two walls. Open double-wide entry space on the foyer wall. Thanks! |
