Their is a formal rule to grant flexibility, the best players get to play up.

Clubs and leagues over time will force Aug and younger players to play with their grade. A team coaches will ignore grafe older players looking to play down. Which will force them to play on their grade B team. Its what happened in 2016 and before and its what will happen again.
Can you provide any cite for this happening before 2016?

Nobody was looking to play down in 2016. It just wasnt a thing. Maybe it was because clubs werent allowing Aug and younger players to play down a grade.
Can you provide any cite for this happening before 2016? Cite = quote (a passage, book, or author) as evidence for or justification of an argument or statement, especially in a scholarly work.

My scholarly work is being around in 2016 and never seeing or hearing about players playing down a grade. I dont know why it was this way it just was.
So confirmed, no rule existed then or now.

I dont know about if a rule was drafted then or not. Maybe there was one maybe there wasnt. SY rules haven't come out yet so who knows what will happen.

Did anyone even talk about what their grade was? Maybe people didn't think about/care either way (like know, btw).

Yes people talked about grade all the time because this is when they would be recruited.

Don't worry GY Guy they'll probably keep biobanding which will allow your kid to play down against younger players.

It will contradict what their biobanding players are doing now, playing down in the younger team that is 1/2 grade lower.

I agree + I dont really like biobanding either. The difference is if you're in an Academy setting biobanding down is a bad thing. This is because all acadamies want is players that can compete at a professional level at as young of an age as possible. With college recruiting all players are looking to do is stand out from other players their grade in school. This is why parents hold their kid back 1-2 years in school. They can be 36 months older than everyone else their grade. Since parents pay for Club soccer nobody wants older players playing down on their kids team.

Then why do all the top European academies have biobanding which produces world class players like Kevin De Bruyne, Declan Rice, Harry Kane etc if it doesn't work and is a bad thing?

As I said in an Academy setting biobanding is considered a bad thing. Its a last ditch effort by late developers to stay relevant. However if puberty hits and they suddenly grow 8 inches Acadamies will play that player up ASAP so they can be considered for playing pro. This is the differnce. In a non Academy setting if a player is able to play down they'll stay playing down so they can dominate and look amazing for Scouts that are looking for players that graduate a specific year.

You're saying nonsense because European real soccer playing countries and South American countries believe in biobanding and have been playing late developers down for decades.
Many of those late developers became stars.

What I don't understand is the parents that think they'll have a choice in which team they'll be playing on. Top A team coaches have multiple players they can choose from for every position. Why would coaches choose a grade older player when they know they'd be a short-timer and guaranteed to eventually leave the team to play on a team thats their grade for recruiting? Some people will say that they're better than the other players that are a grade down. If this is true why didnt they make the A team thats their grade in school? It doesnt make sense.

There are different cohorts among all these girls. Some cohorts parents will absolutely have a say. If you are a top q3/q4 on the current A team the coach would highly likely allow, even encourage, that player you to stay up. But some parents may want their kid to not be trapped and to be on grade. No club is going to tell them no.

Now, a parent of a middle of the road kid will have very little levearage and will have to follow the club recommendation. The only leverage those parents have is threat of leaving which may not go very far depending on how good the kid is or what need they fill.

Your "many" is 0 here. Just admit you can not play in your age group for whatever reason, and do not want to go to the B team. Glad ECNL will not adopt this shitty rule, so you can only cheat in MLS.

Which is why Im saying that Clubs wont allow Aug birthdays to play on a grade down team. Its a PITA, only benefits one maybe two players, and probabaly pisses off all the other patents on the coreect grade team.

Considering you falsely claimed their was a prior rule that forced Aug kids to play up on age and that someone in addition to you was also pro-GY, your credibility is shot.

Hahaha keep trying GY Guy.

I said that. I never saw players playjng down a grade and that grade in school was discussed all the time because it determined recruiting timeline.

Give me a break. You're getting your nose rubbed in reality and dont like it.

Seems like someone remains unhappy that no one liked it when this idea was framed as SY+30 or 60.

You did, keep your story straight, forcing means a rule existed, "Clubs and leagues over time will force Aug and younger players to play with their grade. A team coaches will ignore grafe older players looking to play down. Which will force them to play on their grade B team. Its what happened in 2016 and before and its what will happen again." And you keep pretending like someone other than you wants GY w/o proof.

Play up? Players down? I dont know that that means. Its a strict 12 month eligibility window.

What does Play up and Play down mean?
