25th Amendment

“Fueled by hamburgers and endless cans of Coca-Cola, Trump ignored calls from his closest political advisers, including Vice President Mike Pence, who begged him to make a televised address and call off the mob.”

Apparently, per WH sources, Trump was thrilled when “his people” stormed the Capitol...but then quickly became embarrassed when he say “a poor, white trash mob.” He thought they looked low-class, and that was a bad reflection on him. He clearly didn’t grasp the magnitude of the situation beyond appearances and how that reflected on him.

Who put that up, and are they facing any charges? That has to be threatening and intimidation. I'm assuming it was meant to intimidate Pence? They were chanting "hang Mike Pence" in the video above.

Gawd. I am not fan of Mike Pence, but... I'm speechless. ..

It occurs to me that they could get fingerprints and DNA from evidence left behind at the scene.

the noose hd a sign attached “this is art”

I mean, it was clearly not a functional gallows, but the message is chilling nonetheless.

Why couldn’t it be functional? Looks workable to me.

Looks like a slapdash frame to me, with a 4x4 post thrown on top, and a spindly little rope tied once around the post. I’m not even sure there’s enough room for an average sized person to stand up on the platform. It’s just for show.

You would be wrong then.

Here’s the builder and a friend standing on top. Two well-built men. It was made to be functional.

I meant not enough room height-wise...a gallows does not have the noose at chest level. If it was meant to be functional, then they had no clue what they were doing.

Of course. He does not grasp that nearly 400,000 HUMAN BEINGS in America have died.

Only that it's unfair to him.

If a person were hog-tied, it could work. I suspect these guys would've used that method goven the opportunity.

Don't tell me what is and isn't functional. As long as there's a drop-off point below the noose, the body can hang. It can be an inserted trap door or a free hang in front of the platform.

Look, I’m not interested in getting into this with you. If you think a thin piece of rope tied like a shoelace around a small post would be a functional noose, go right ahead.

DP. Our point is that it doesn’t have to be functional. If it’s realistic, it’s a threat, just like toy guns. And contrary to a gun replica, I’m convinced this gallows would have been used on someone had they caught them. It might not have “hanged” them, but it could have killed or injured them anyway.

You are a disgrace.

Same. A fervent mob. Once ruled like they were? Crazy.

DP. They murdered a cop. They would have murdered more. There were bombs. An angry mob chanting for the death of the VP was being egged on by the president in real time. What are you trying to say here PP? That they crowd wasn’t serious?

Oh, no, I completely agree that this was meant as a serious threat. As I said upthread - regardless of the functionality, it is a chilling sight. I’m not sure if they intended this to be used or not. You’re right that they probably would have tried. My point is that, as with most things Trumpers attempt, they had no clue what they were actually doing.

And if one of them attempted to create a bomb that didn’t work? Still a crime

Yes, I agree.

I think they would have made it work, given the chance.
