People get killed during wars, that's why they suck! You don't leave anyone behind or is that what you want to do in the future? Perhaps you'd like to be the final arbiter of who is rescued and who gets left behind. |
I think it is a good thing that he is back. I don't like the exchange. But, you apparently think that Bergdahl's life is more important than those killed looking for him. |
What I also love, is the media reports a story, and the a White House or a "Pentagon Official" comes up with some talking points about it. The soldiers in his unit say that a soldier who is captured will try to get back to his unit, and magically, a story them appears stating that he tried to escape. Ad nauseam. And so transparent to those of us looking at all sources. |
It's not about the leaving or not leaving behind, though I know that's a huge liberal talking point meant to distract from the lies. The soldiers in his unit spoke out because Susan Rice lied about him serving honorably. |
That's a lie. She didn't speak until Sunday. Nice try though. |
Please list the story that is wrong, and the counter-story, in each instance. |
Exactly. The soldiers interviewed have all said they are glad he is back. They have also said they believe he deserted. I don't know how they feel about the exchange. |
And the soldiers spoke to conservative media this past week. They state, themselves, that's why they spoke out |
Sure, like every Vietnam Vet was as pure as the driven snow; guess again. Like no military personel in Vietnam ever messed up. War is ugly and sad. Most of us who have served have stories we won't tell our children. Like most of us Sgt. Bergdahl may not deserve a Congressional Medal of Honor, but he does not deserve to be spat upon and ridiculed as were many Vietnam Vets when they returned home from war. If you feel you deserved better treatment when you returned home from war, you should be strongly defending Sgt Berdahl's right to come home and rebuild his life. If you can't do that then you have no right to fly or wear a POW flag. |
I know Luttrell and other special forces question why they didn't raid. There are also some special forces who question the rescue video, from the positioning of the chopper, to when they frisked Bergdahl, etc. Something is amiss. |
I thought we had a long standing policy of not negotiating with terrorist for the logical reason that it breeds more terrorism.
I would think that the Bergdahl exchange will endanger Americans not just in Afghanistan but all over the world. |
"Huge liberal talking point" put on sign by guy described as "of an arch-conservative bent": ![]() |
You are going to have to do some of your own research because I don't have time to go through every detail, but a couple big one: 1) it now appears that Bergdahl didn't leave a letter behind when he left the base. That's important because it was being used as evidence that he defected or renounced his citizenship or even became a Jihadist. 2) several of the soldiers said to have been killed while searching for Bergdahl turn out to have been killed in unconnected action. Of course, any deaths are too many, but the original number was exaggerated. |
What a stupid talking point. How the hell were people supposed to know he was a deserter who's desertion helped get other American soldiers killed when his fellow soldiers were under an NDA and not talking? |
