Yet ranked the same? Tufts has more WASPs thats all. BC is just as wealthy. |
A lot of older people need to get over the fact that reputations change over time. I went to Holy Cross at a time when it was more prestigious than BC but I have to begrudgingly admit that BC is attracting more top students today. I also went to school at a time when Northeastern was a joke and BU and USC admitted almost anyone with a pulse and a checkbook. Tufts was more prestigious back then but these other schools have caught up and are frankly more desirable for most kids today. i’m too old and senior to be going to recruiting fairs so my dated opinion doesn’t matter. Look at how these schools are rated today and which direction they’re headed. |

The resident Emory hater will still say its garbage because of 20 points. |
You're probably too busy taking remedial math... |
| This thread needs to die. Typical DCUM BS on here. Go outside and enjoy the fall weather while it lasts. |
| Tufts is still more prestigious bc is going nowhere. |
| Tufts has much better academic reputation than BU and certainly BC. Mediocre outcomes from both BC and BU. |
And yet, it continues... |
Tufts has almost no Wallstreet placement. BC is probably as good as Vanderbilt a little worse than Emory or WashU. |
| Why would anyone pay big bucks for schools with bad rankings. Go top 25 privates or state flagships. Tufts, BC, and Wake are not top privates. |
| why is this whole thread now about tufts?? |
Because their kids didn't or probably won't get into it and it's expensive but not ivy/MIT. It's not unique, just symbolic of a number of schools that might ding the fragile parental egos that aren't as sturdy as DC's. At some point "Tufts syndrome" became a known term - top kids wanting a prestigious Boston education would hedge their MIT and Harvard applications with a Tufts application - close, but not quite. |
