I thought the protesters were against Israel and not Jews generally? |
Oh, come now. They're mostly peaceful. |
Trending the wrong way. DNC is going to see some real ugliness, which will help Trump. |
haha goes to show how much you know- fox point is lovely blue suburb between whitefish bay and Mequon. and they have large active Jewish communities - had a Hanukkah parade - was very cute, looked like something from a circa 1960's film. But a lot of them are also appalled by the current right wing government even if they do support the settlements on the WB. Fox valley is Appleton/oshkosh etc where the lovely republican sr. from WI is from and there are a LOT of Arabs and refugees settled in that area and its not as reliably pro- sending our $$ to foreign wars as you think. |
Some things are more important than political horse races, you know. |
Yes supporting Israel will cost Biden. Supporting Israel will have negative consequences for US politicians. It is just a matter of time till the US pulls the pledge on Israel. Huge mistake on making Israel a left /right issue. |
Funny. For me, the well-being of the United States of America is FAR more important than anything happening in Israel/Gaza. Helping the poor and working class, the environment, protecting women's rights--all priorities for me. Perhaps your loyalties lie elsewhere. |
You're responding to a different poster. I'm very familiar with the Fox Valley area. I think you're dramatically overestimating the demographics and politics based on your bubble. |
Interesting. If the protesters elect Trump, I think you'll see a rather different outcome than you expect. |
Guys, you're all making this way too complicated
You don't actually need to know anything about history, or settlements, or speak Hebrew or Arabic Just use this one simple heuristic: if one side in a conflict uses suicide attacks against civilians, take the other side |
It started after decades of terrorist attacks, do people not know history anymore? The protestors were in support of terrorists then, just as now. In both cases the terrorism was viewed as justified. The historical parallels are eerie. Fun fact, we considered Mandela a terrorist until 2008: https://time.com/5338569/nelson-mandela-terror-list/ |
Progressives seem to think electing Trump is going to be awesome for Palestinians. And they are willing to throw women, workers, the environment, health care, and everything else liberals care about under the bus for their little fantasy. |
I tend to agree. There are lines we don't cross. It's speaks to the moral emptiness of our society that we can justify anything these days. |
+1 also, for gd's sake, do you think you are going to come out better than you are now if trump is reelected? do you think a single person in gaza will be better off? |
I hope you have the same venom for your elected leaders who parrot pro-Israel PR points and pledge to "stand with Israel" to get campaign donations. At least these kids have innocence as their defense. What reasons, other than greed, do these politicians have for being stooges for a foreign government? |
