I think most teachers want a work/life balance and time during the work day to complete tasks. They want to get rid of administrative tasks that take up time planning. The only administrative tasks a teacher should have is grading and communicating with parents/staff. |
How did you get that. I got IA job with associates degree |
This PP is a troll. There is no such thing as a teacher resident anymore. They are lying. |
It’s not called “teacher trainee” and it does require a bachelors degree. I don’t know how people with associates are getting the job. That is insulting to us licensed teachers. |
Unless you personally know of some, I wouldn’t assume it’s true based only on the earlier post. |
I agree. I’ll probably quit at the end of this year. Money doesn’t even make it on my list of reasons. It’s the lack of work/life balance. I was up at 5:30am working today and I’ve put in 6 hours already this Saturday. Not even halfway done. |
If only people did their research. It IS called teacher trainee - see the link below: https://www.fcps.edu/teacher-trainee "The Teacher Trainee Initiative (formerly called the Teacher Residency Program) helps you start teaching while finishing up the requirements to become fully licensed in Virginia. " |
Yes. It also says one requirement is “Bachelor's degree conferred/awarded from a regionally accredited college or university”. |
Yes, exactly. Why are you arguing with me, I'm just posting the ground truth. I told you all the associates degree person is a liar, as is the "teacher" who is claiming there is no teacher trainee program. Here's the proof. |
What? I wasn’t arguing with you. Not sure where you got that. I pointed out the additional as support to show you need a bachelor degree. |
Sorry- that was my PP and it autocorrected to NOT instead of NOW. I know what it’s called as there are many in my school. |
Sorry it was an autocorrect. I was trying to explain that it went from being called teacher resident to teacher trainee. I was questioning how someone with an associates got the job. |
|
Exactly! |
And yet Fairfax parents and FCPS administration continue to do nothing but pile additional responsibilities onto teachers. As soon as some of the vets leave, it’s goodnight to the capacity of this division. The continued lack of elementary planning time parity with HS/MS is particularly baffling. A return to early release Mondays is a relatively simple way to greatly affect the work/life propositions of the staff. |
