To settle this, I suggest we develop a commuter model to calculate team ratings and rankings. The model would compute an overall average performance rating for teams based on how teams perform against other teams and the strength of a team’s opponents. A team’s overall rating could be used to understand the relative competitiveness of two different teams, and a team's overall rating would then determines a team's ranking. |
Love this response. Irony and math are both hard for some. Thank you for pointing that out! And the where teams deserved to be ranked horse is extremely dead. |
Translation: Math is math — except when math doesn’t prove the point I want math to make, then math is wrong. |
I generally think that while flawed, this ranking equation does a decent job of ordering the top 20 teams. Beyond that I cannot speak. |
| Who’s ready for Monday? It’s like free agent frenzy. Cap blue will be interesting. |
| Good luck to all the parents. Losing control of the process will be hard for many. |
If you have older kids, control is an illusion that disappeared long ago. |
My guess is up from last prediction: Pride will take at least 10 spots on Blue. |

quote]So the team will be down for this year as a good or better player won't be allowed a roster spot? It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let'see if it works out for them. |
| This is so awful but I have been through this before so here is what I think will happen: many of the Pride girls have been doing workouts and most of the Capital clinics. They have been the most impressive players as a group. My guess is at least 10 will make Blue because they are deserving and the coaches know them. The Pride no could be 12 but we’ll see. Just want the best team. Good luck to everyone. |
So is Capital that good at recruiting or do they just get the best players? If these girls didn’t go to Capital, would they still go to the same or similar schools? Seems like the girls are already great players by the time they get to Cap. |
Where are you setting the over under? 10, 11, or 12? Sounds like 11. |
In the DMV there is only one club that has top notch recruiting and it is Capital. By all means take your chances getting your kids recruited elsewhere but for now no one holds a candle to Capital. |
