Blinds that let in light but provide privacy

Anonymous
What style of blinds should I get if I don't want to darken the room significantly, but need the privacy?

JCPenney is a surprising (to me) source of some awesome, really reasonably priced blinds.

I think you are looking for room darkening cellular shades. Read the reviews of the blinds on the JCP website to get some ideas.

We have had some fairly inexpensive light filtering pleated shades from JC Penney in several rooms in our home, and they've held up well for many years.

We got something that looks like blinds but has a sheer fabric in between. They were fairly pricey, though. Made by Hunter Douglas or someone like that. I think we got the Home Depot version.

A quick question for the savannah owner: how do you clean them?we have the same blinds. After 6 years, they are now full of stains and dirty. I really would like to clean them or get them cleaned, but not sure his to accomplish that. Thanks.

+1 to JCPenney cellular shades. I'm a fan of the ones that open from the top or the bottom.

+ 2. We got room darkening but they have light-filtering options.

No - you want light filtering (not room darkening).
