Normally I'm a pretty good eater - mostly veggies, nothing processed. We even grow some of our own foods.
Today, I apparently lost my mind. I ate corned beef hash from a can and biscuits for breakfast; pizza, twix, and cherry coke for lunch; followed by a Big Mac and large fries for dinner. I can't remember the last time my food intake was this appalling. Had a migraine, but no major stress or anything. Definitely not pregnant (unless Jesus is coming back). Feeling awful, physically sick. Just had to say it out loud. Back to clean living tomorrow. |
Yeah, that's gross. I have strange binges on occasions, but hash in a can and McD's especially I can't ever bring myself to do!
|
| If I start out the day eating salty/sweet, it's on! I will eat everything! |
this is me too. a bagel for breakfast will almost definitely be followed by excessive carbs for the rest of the day. |
That has happened to me (except for the hash !)
Sometimes you have to feed the mind and if the mind wants Mcdonalds, ice cream, reeces peanut butter cups all in one sitting - you should give in once in a blue moon. Try not to feel guilty - get back on track, do a little extra at the gym, drink lots of water and savor the memory. |
I completely agree with this. If nothing else it help remind our minds how gross we feel after such a binge. OP, I had a similar bad day last weekend that started with a donut and bagel at Dunkins and ended the day with a big bag of cheese curls (a pizza and other junk was stuffed inbetween). |
I love lots of bad for me food. Try not to eat them at every meal all in one day though Today's another day.

NP here. This was always my way of thinking about it too. But last week I went to Popeyes for the first time in six months and did the disgusting thing I do once or twice a year: order a 3 piece meal (two spicy one regular), take one bite from each piece of chicken, then just eat all the crispy skin. I enjoyed it very much, but unlike previous times, I didn't feel gross afterward. In fact I already want to do it again. I'm a bit freaked out. |
Damn you! Now I want cherry coke!
OP, we all have days like that. Just enjoy your indulgences/guilty pleasures and make sure it's not an every day kind of thing, and it's all good. |

When I was younger, I could eat like that regularly and suffer no ill effects from it. I started eating super healthy and more or less clean when I was pregnant with DD four years ago and have basically kept it up ever since. Sure, I sometimes eat a bigger piece of cake than I really need, but overall, veggie-heavy dishes cooked at home with good proteins and fats is where it's at.
I knew that I had permanently changed the way my body responds to food a while ago when I ate bunch of junk (like what you described). I felt AWFUL. Nauseous, cramps, bloated and cranky. The bloated and cranky lasted for like 2 days afterward and I gained 3 pounds as a result of the binge. |
| OP here. Goodness! I was half expecting a DCUM pile-on but you guys are totally awesome. Thanks for the understanding and commiseration. Feeling somewhat more normal today but I've definitely reminded myself why I don't eat like this! |
Hmm. Has me thinking. Do I do that? |
| Is it related to your cycle? |
| I think you just needed this stuff that day. As long as you don't eat like this every day it is fine. |
