For those of you who are working with a trainer, what was your workout this week? Might be fun to read about them and incorporate the workouts into our own fitness plans. (Or, if you had a kick-ass workout on your own, share it too!)
Me (60 minutes): After warm-up/foam rolling. 5 sets of 3 clean&press at 85 percent of maximum weight. 4 rounds of the following set: *Pushups with feet elevated on a step (started with 20, ended up about 12 pushups the last set) *Back squats at 70 percent maximum, 15-760s each round *back rows (Don't remember weight, about 15-20 each, to failure) * 10 burpees Mid-30s female, goals are building muscle and getting stronger. |
| I can't remember what I did in mine but it was brilliant and my arms ache today which is unusual. Lots of compound movements and quite fast paced. I love my trainer. |
|
This one was killer:
Four rounds: *Back squats (133 lbs, 153 lbs, 173, 173)- started with 10 reps, went down to 4 by last 2 rounds. * pushups with feet inclined (25, 20, 15, 15) * chin ups (5). Arms/shoulders were pretty wrecked, so trainer assisted me on these. Three rounds: *10 single arm kettlebell swings (50 lbs) * 15 TRX hip throws *15 front plank rollouts on stability ball. |
| Why are women trying to build muscle? Why do you want to become a man? There's nothing wrong with being a woman. |
Fixed that for you, troll. |

how big is your strapon? |
This has never made sense to me considering the multitudes of men with not even a bit of muscle. Are they women? |
|
I'm going to pretend that was a serious question and answer it. I am trying to build muscle because:
- I want to be strong enough to lift things - suitcase, chest of drawers, children etc - without having to ask a man for help. - I want to decrease my risk of osteoporosis - strength training (and adequate calcium) is one of the best known ways to do this. - I want to reduce my risk of back injuries etc by strengthening my back. - And I want to be in good physical shape, reducing my risk of heart disease, diabetes etc and overall improving my stamina and athletic ability. But most of all, I like the mental challenge. That it makes people like you feel uncomfortable (threatened?) is just an added bonus. Ps - I benched 75 this morning and deadlifted 90lbs. Go me. |

You women posting on this thread are probably much stronger than most women. Nothing wrong with that.
You are stronger than me, too- a male who goes to the gym daily. |
So you actually want to annoy or threaten people? You're even sadder than I thought. Big muscles on a woman aren't "threatening", they're disgusting. |
| Bodybuilder here, when women lift heavy weights they don't turn into shemales unless they are on roids. It's much harder for women to gain muscle than men due to their bodies and hormones. They can get stronger which is a great benefit on so many levels. OP, keep up the good work! |

OP here (not PP, but you go, girl!) http://www.girlswithmuscle.com/171052/Erin-Stern This is Erin Stern, one of the top female figure competitors. She has curves, she looks very healthy and natural and strong. She is the model of what I would like to look like (and lift like! ) as a female athlete. I'm sorry if you can't see how sexy and beautiful that is. |
